Walked to the mailbox late this afternoon and the People magazine was there amongst the junk mail. Decided to catch up on all the really important news (HA!) but should not have even opened the magazine because ofcourse, there was an article on Casey Anthony. Everytime I think of this case I just shake my head in disbelief. As I am sure someone has said before, she may have been judged by her peers and found not guilty, but she has yet to face the final judgement. Her life as well as her Mother, Father, and brother's lives will never be the same. So much sadness for what was once happy times filled with the joys only a young child can bring. Enough said.
I really haven't watched much TV this summer but I really try to remember to watch "So You Think You Can Dance"....such entertainment and such talent. Even Mary Murphy is not as "loud" as she has been in past years. Haven't picked a fav yet, they all are wonderful....
My sweet Toby follows me everywhere I go...upstairs, downstairs, out to get the newspaper (should teach him to fetch), right next to me in the garden, asleep near me as I catnap on the porch, occasionally barking at a bird, a bunny, another dog usually right after I have closed my eyes. I love this little dog, he is a huge joy in my daily life. Look at that face...how could you not love him.
Today's prompt at Picture Summer was "subtle"....as I walked around the garden, between catnaps, I saw this little bud on the coreopsis. A large rose bush with extra long branches had covered this little flower until I trimmed the rose bush and now that the sun can shine on this little plant it finally is preparing to bloom.
The hydrangea blooms begin so soft and subtle.
Not so subtle, but just felt the need to add another shot of the cone flower.
More from my daylily collection, somewhat subtle being white with that little touch of deep purple.
Definitely not subtle, but love the bright yellow with dark brown center in the black-eyed susan.
A hummingbird was flitting around the monarda this afternoon, grabbed my camera, shot 58 shots and this was the best I got. Quite disappointed, these little birds are so fast, they never stop and it was totally impossible for me to get even one good shot."If you want to feel rich, just count all the gifts you have that money cannot buy." Until next time......(comments always welcomed)
