Never Again

Today is 11-11-11, a date we will never see again, not in this century anyway.  And that has me thinking of what I will never see again.
  • My Mom or Dad's face
  • My husband lying next to me as I wake up each morning
  • Wonderful friends that were struck down by Cancer
  • Today or yesterday or last week or last year
I have to stop this, because I am sitting here, tears rolling down my cheeks, thinking about all these "nevers" when I should be thinking about all the "agains".
  • Lisa and Sam, and Lane and Nelly, and Brandon and Hilary, and Bailey, and Brie (my kids and grandkids and their significant others)
  • My husband, I visited him today, and when I see him I fall in love with him all over again.
  • The beauty and promises that unfold with each new day
  • The seasons
  • My friends, each and everyone a blessing
  • My home, it brings me such warmth, comfort and security
  • My Toby, always by my side.
  • Beautiful sunsets, blue skies, glorious colors found in nature
  • Learning something new everyday.
  • And I hope my car soon, after all those damages I will be so happy to see her whole again.
Many days I meet someone new, I am constantly being exposed to new thoughts and new ways.  Again, I need to remember to use every opportunity to add to my knowledge.  I try again to have an open mind, I relish the chance to learn, and most of the time I enjoy the challenge (except when I have to deal with something electronic).  As I read over this, I realize that there are many more "agains" than "nevers" and so it should be.  Look ahead to all the agains and not back at the nevers.  Do all that you love, see all those you love, enjoy all that you love, again and again and again.

"I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday."  ~  Abraham Lincoln

Until next time.....

As through the camera lens we can put the focus on what ever we think it should be.

This year, I have been having a lot of never again and it certainly has brought me slightly undone. Thank you for your wonderful positive words.

  7. Dear Deanna, I so love your honesty. You are a wonderful person and I wish I could take away your sadness. I, too, get bogged down in the nevers. I wish I was more of a glass half full person, I think that life would be so much easier! Your new header is gorgeous! XO

  10. What a heartfelt post. It's true that there are a lot of "never agains" but when we recall those memories they are still with us so they really aren't never again.

Loved your work and your blog.
