Kim also gave us a new texture layer to play with and encouraged us that "less" can be more. In other words, use layers with a light touch instead of heavily texturing. Since her journey with textures and I might add she is definitely "The Texture Queen", she has lightened up her touch to add more subtlety to her work. So this week it is lightness and less with her new texture layer entitled "Awaken". Each one of the images below has the texture Awaken applied. I did each one about the same way. Lightened each image in PSE, cropped most of them, used my "favorite new effect, Velvet Truffle, then added 2 layers of Awaken. First layer at soft light, 2nd layer at linear burn but only at about 20-30% (remember "lite" touch).
Until next time......
wonderful gentility!
ReplyDeleteAll 4 are smashing.....so delicate!!
ReplyDeletesuch beautiful photos Deanna! I love the softness these textures create! such a dreamy quality. Oh, by the way... love your new haircut!
ReplyDeleteWonderful images!! You really have the processing down - beautiful job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I especially love the last image.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so beautiful. It's amazing how textures can enhance a photo even when it is so subtle.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm taking that class, too! The minimalist approach is definitely a challenge for me, white space is not my forte.
ReplyDeleteThey are all quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFantastic Deanna I love your photos and your memoir.
ReplyDeleteYou've TOTALLY gotten me booked on "Velvet Truffle"! And isn't this class fun? I really like this 6-word challenge. I can see doing it occassionally throughout the year...I mean...SOOOOO many words to choose from :). I really like that first photo. It seems so whispery light. Beautiful.

Great job on all four photos. I especially loved the second one as it looked almost 3D to me. I love equally how to managed to make something which is (ready for the garbage can) to become a beautiful photo~ Angie:) Now following--come visit me at www.ilovebeyondlayers.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWow, this is fantastic, Deanna! I also thought about taking this course, as I love Kim's textures, but I had to decide against it this time and hope she will offer it again!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent work. Less is more is certainly a concept I need to put into practice!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Deanna! I hear you on the long story one and then to put it in 6 words - yup = hard!
ReplyDeleteI love what you are doing with your photos. I am here from Beyond Layers and look forward to getting to see more and getting to know you.
