Velvet Truffle

I am smitten.  I have discovered a new "photo effect" entitled "Velvet Truffle" that I came across on my internet/blog stalking travels.  I found it on The Coffee Shop Blog a site that is loaded, I mean loaded with all kinds of fabulousness, not sure that is a word, but you know what I mean.  She has actions, overlays, effects, frames, collages, tips & tricks for us bloggers and, drum roll please, most everything on her site is FREE.  After discovering "Velvet Truffle" I want to run this action on all my photos, it gives such a beautiful softness to the images.  Maybe I will rename this blog to "The Velvet Truffle", got a nice ring to it....but no, I will stick to my original.  If you haven't come across this site, go and enjoy the discovery.

Stopped by Trader Joe's on my way home from getting my hair cut and had to pick up some tulips, the first of the year.  Thank you God for Trader Joe's.

And guess what I did....cut my hair all off, haven't had it this short since I was in my 20's.  Hopefully, keeping fingers crossed, it is a wash n' wear style, we will see when I wash it tomorrow.  My sweetie pie, Laurie, who has been my hairdresser for 25 + years was so excited to take the scissors to my hair, you could see the gleam in her eyes....she was literally wading in hair when she completed the job, and it was a job.  If you look real close you can still see a hair stuck to my eyelash  that has now slipped into my eye and is bothering the heck outta' me.

I used my 105mm Macro lens on all of these images, along with the Velvet Truffle.

"What the hell - you might be right, you might be wrong...but don't just avoid."  ~  Katherine Hepburn

Until next time......

  5. How brave are you getting your hair cut off! I bet it looks fabulous! I hope that it's easy to care for. I'm getting a keratin treatment for mine in a couple weeks. Hopefully it will take care of the frizz.
That action is really pretty. I've been using Totally Rad for Photoshop and really like it.

  6. Wonderful post, great photos. Love your new hair cut, seems to highlight your beautiful eyes more. Sometimes it worth trying something different (although I've never had short hair myself).

  7. Love the Velvet Truffle. I downloaded it but have yet to use it. With short hair, you'll need ear warmers! Of course, where you live, you need them whether hair is long or short!

  13. Oh, I love that Velvet Truffle action! I'm going to have to go over to the Coffee Shop blog and get that. I've been there before, but had kind of forgotten about it.

Aren't you the brave one chopping off all your hair. It looks very cute! Are you going to update your profile photo...I want to see the whole thing. Sometimes when I'm crabby I feel like cutting mine off, but I'm sure I never will :)
