Friday on the Porch

It is almost summertime when the livin' is easy and the spring flowers begin to fade.  But before they begin to fade I am snapping as many pics as I can.  Right now the ranunculous are still lovely and the pansies are full and lush, but it won't be long before both will be gone replaced by summer-time flowers like geraniums, petunias, and daisy's.

These beauties are all blooming on the front porch and I am enjoying their show....the forecast is for sunny skies and warm temps bringing these lovelies lives a little shorter.

  1. These are so pretty. But it's the first picture that really stands out for me.

  2. I read your previous post about your decision to place your husband in a memory care facility. My father suffered from Alzheimer's for many years. He died in June of 2010. It was a long battle and my mom made the decision to keep him at home. Fortunately he was not combative but he did wander and we had to watch him all of the time. I will never condemn someone for placing their loved one in a care facility because until one is faced with the "36 hour day" it is impossible to understand the stamina it takes to care for an Alzheimer's patient. My mother-in-law died last November from the same disease. I admire your strength and willingness to look forward with a positive attitude. Your photos are beautiful and I have enjoyed my visit. I am your newest follower and am also following you on Pinterest.

  9. What wonderful shots! Do you have ranunculuses? They don't grow here and I always have to order through a florist!
