It's raining
It's pouring
The old man is snoring....
Well, I don't know about the old man, but this old woman is about ready to lay her head down and see if she can snore...errr sleep. It's that kind of a day, raining, some lightening, a little thunder, the kind of a day that crawling under the covers and catching a few afternoon zzzz's would hit the spot. Or at least grabbing that book that I have almost completed and reading it until the eyes begin to droop.
A trip to the hardware store this morning to pick up some much needed furnace filters, also meant a swing by the grocery to check what flowers were waiting for me. Tuesday is usually flower delivery day, but I must have been too early because most of the flowers were looking a little past their prime, especially the tulips so I grabbed a bouquet of daffodils. I find bright yellow a little difficult to photograph...I have to adjust the exposure level several times to get it right, and then it still doesn't seem exact.
Today being Texture Tuesday over at Kim Klassen's lovely blog...her direction for this week was to use one of her newer textures "minus 43" which is indeed what I did on the image below. I also added one layer of Lenabem-Ana's texture to give it that real canvas look.
So signing off now to go catch some of those zzz's I referred to earlier.
"Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap. "
~ Barbara Jordan
Until next time......

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the textured photo!! I had a nap yesterday something I never do!!!
ReplyDeleteThese yellow daffodils definitely brighten a room. Your texture and edit is sublime. Hope you got a good rest/nap today.
ReplyDeleteThe sun will come out tomorrow! Either way those sunny flowers are amazingly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to get a peek at spring - but now back to the real world of snow and ice.
ReplyDeleteI think they're gorgeous - sunny and bright! Beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteWow, how wonderful to get an afternoon nap! one of my favorite things to do on a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteI for one think Naps save the day!
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils sure do brighten up a raining day. I heard Chicago had 60 degrees today. We didn't even hit 32 so the ice we have didn't melt and it's going into the deep freeze tonight. I guess the ice won't melt for awhile. :0(
ReplyDeleteNothing like sunny daffodils on a rainy day. Hope you got some zzzz's!
ReplyDeleteWho snores?? I don't, er, at least I don't hear it... lol! I find bright red hard to shoot as well...
ReplyDeleteThe yellow is so bright and cheery!!! I think you did a great job photographing them!
ReplyDeleteWell lets just say I napped all day and there was no rain here. Just one bad headache.. YIKES.. I feel so much better after sleeping most the day away. I hope I'm not up all night now. I just love your flowers. They are so bright and happy. They have me smiling.
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Wonderful how you've edited your daffodils. I love the canvas look.
ReplyDeleteToday we also have stormy weather, time to take my plaid... but I just get a sms from my kids that they are coming to visit. So despite of the rain, there will be a little sunshine in my home.
These are beautiful...yes, I too find yellow difficult to capture just right. Wow, the two textures really make a beautiful floral print!! I like the added look of "canvas". Enjoy your zzzzz's. :)
ReplyDeleteLovin' your daffodils! I'm glad to know somebody else finds yellow ... especially daffodils ... hard to photograph. Here I thought it was me. You did a fine job with it.
ReplyDeleteSo nice and pretty!!
ReplyDeleteStunning!!!
ReplyDeletePretty happy flowers I always have problems with red flowers sometimes it's so garish...
ReplyDeleteyellow and red - very hard to get right photographically or to at least match up to how our eyes adjust it. I love your application of texture - nicely done.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, yellow ( and red) are so hard to capture, but it looks as if you hit the nail on the head. Beautiful. It's a nap kind of day here too, but I know that won't be happening. Hope you were able to get yours today!
ReplyDeleteLove the subject matter and the textures used! So very pretty and sweet! Sweet dreams Dear Deanna!
