"Love is missing someone whenever we're apart...
but somehow feeling warm inside because we're close in heart."
~ Kay Knudsen
Today is the day that we wish all our sweet friends and our favorite loves a Happy Valentine's Day. And it is day's like this that I really, really miss my sweetie. He wasn't particularly a romantic soul, but a sweet soul. I might get a box of candy from Walgreen's, if he remembered, never a bouquet of flowers, but my sweetie was my Valentine all year through. I am off to visit with him this afternoon, knowing that he probably will not recognize me, but I must kiss him and give him a hug and tell him how much I love him. because today is that day we need to kiss and hug and tell your sweeties how much you do love them.
I won't be around for the next few days....I am off to Asheville, NC for a long weekend with my photo-buddy, Catherine. She is looking to buy property in that area and I am looking to take a bazillion pictures. Have a wonderful day today and a terrific weekend. See ya next week.

Such a lovely picture Deanna. When I was in my 365 photo club, there was a discussion about how photographers tend develop their own "style". Girl, you've got STYLE! Have a wonderful trip to Asheville. It's so beautiful there. About ten years ago my husband and I spent a long weekend at the Grove Park Inn. It was beautiful! I hope your camera and heart come home full.
ReplyDeleteMy sweet friend, I know today must be hard for you but I pray that as you go for your visit with your sweet husband that indeed he will have a twinkle in his eye and if not you know what's in his heart......

Early in our relationship, my husband let me know that he does not pay attention to "Hallmark Holidays," which is what he considers Valentine's Day to be. So I never expect anything from him on February 14 that I don't get from him every other day of the year. The fact that we've been married for 33 years is an indication that it's best to treat your mate with respect every day. I like that that is what I have come to expect. I feel lucky. Have a great trip. Looking forward to lots of photos on your return.
ReplyDeleteAm glad you have a sweetie! You'll be in my neck of the woods this weekend. Will look forward to your images.

ReplyDeleteLove isn't in the "giving"...it's in the "living"...and I, like you, feel like Valentines Day is everyday of the year for me. I hope you have a wonderful time with your friend looking for property!
ReplyDeleteHolidays are particularly hard when your loved one is still here but doesn't recognize that it is a holiday. I might say 'been there, done that'. But, not having mine here anymore is so much worse. Give your sweet one a hug from someone who knows and cares. Hugs, Latane
