I finally, finally got that snow I have been wishing for...snow that actually covered the grass. It has snowed a little bit for the last 3 days giving us a sweet coating. When I woke up this morning, I saw that it had snowed again in the night and was snowing as I gazed out of the front window. I then thought about the fact that it was Monday and there were many on their way to work that were probably grumbling because of the snow. I think I mentioned in an earlier post....it's all in your perspective. Standing in the front window, still in my jammies and robe, drinking a hot cup of coffee is a far shot from having to bundle up with gloves, hats, scarves & boots to make the trek thru the muck and mess of newly salted streets to work on a Monday morning....again all in your perspective.
My view....
I was not one of the bazillions that watched the Super Bowl, but it must have been a good game since the score was close and the newspaper said that Beyonce gave a stunning performance. But I did watch Downton Abby...things are a'changin. I thought Carson was going into cardiac arrest when he saw Ethel in his sacred kitchen, and Robert when he heard that Sybil's baby would be christened in a Catholic church...thank goodness the women in this household have some sense about them.
Around the yard....
A new book to snuggle up with...our book club's choice for February.
And finally, my barn for Trish's Barn Charm...
"Even in winter an isolated patch of snow has a special quality." ~ Andy Goldsworthy
Until next time.....

ReplyDeleteAh, snow! I'm envious. Love that little determined dog.
ReplyDeleteTalking about perspective, I can see too that my perspective has changed as the seasons of my life....We've been there with the disliking snowy Mondays because of having to get out with work and kids so now we can enjoy this season where we get to watch the snow in our jammies with a cup of coffee.....I have to tell you I am enjoying my perspectives from this age....
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos you have given us as a result of this season in your life where you can be home and get out when you desire.....I can so relate to the feel of these shots...There is such a relaxed and genuine feel to your blog that I always leave feeling enriched...
I want to thank you for the sweet comment you left for me....just made my day and I wanted to give you a hug.....
An it would have been a shame to have missed that pudding on Downton Abbey. LOL LOVE that show!
ReplyDeleteNo snow for me at the moment (just rain)) so I enjoy the snow through your eyes. My perspective hasn't changed, I love all seasons :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. Our snow has been and gone for now. Suzy x
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful shots! Those dog ones are too cute. Glad you got the snow. Looks nice. We only got to 68 degrees here.
ReplyDeleteYes, what would we do if the Downton ladies didn't have their head screwed on right?♥ Your birdhouse image is so precious...love the typography also on it.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you finally got a decent amount of snow. Your pics are gorgeous. I had to skip over the Downton Abbey paragraph for I have not seen it yet. About to watch after making blog rounds.
ReplyDeleteYou got some beautiful snow pictures while still in your jammies! I like the little dog. I'm glad to say that I can enjoy the snow the same as you, from my window. I like this perspective!
ReplyDeleteAh Deanna! Lovely photos and lovely words. I am not into Downton Abbey. I don't know why, really. But I did watch the Super Bowl (via dvr, fast-forwarding) because I love to laugh at the cleaver commercials. Beyonce did do an amazing performance. But I loved loved loved Alicia Keyes performance of the National Anthem. It was very moving and she stayed true to her style/method. I love your snow photos. Have you seen mine? Did you see my "snow monsters" post? We have had toooo much snow! It is finally melting. We finally have temps above 32°! My goodness.
ReplyDeletebeautiful barn. love the blue birdbath in the snow. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are glorious...but I think my fav is the one with the blue birdbath...just that beautiful shot of color amidst the white snow. LOVE IT. I didn't watch the Super Bowl either. I'm with you, I was team "Downton Abbey". And you are right, the times are a 'changin at Downton.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! I missed our one real snowfall (6 inches), but it did snow lightly all day yesterday and there is nothing more beautiful than white flakes falling outside!
ReplyDeleteA perfect dusting. I love the blue birdbath capped with white. Your pup is so cute.
ReplyDeleteLove your doggy, blue birth bath, and of course that stunning red barn!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this barn...I did watch the superbowl and watched Downton Abby when it repeated later. I love Masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snowy series. I loved the images of your dog. :-) Great looking barns!

I suspect my daughter was one of those grumbly Chicago commuters, this morning. I read Kitchen House a while back and really liked it - ill be interested to hear what your book club thinks. I love the blue bird bath in the snow - what pretty contrast! And as always, you get some really great barn shots, beautiful composition and editing!
ReplyDeleteoh I love your great snowy view out of your window. What a blessing that is to stand there in your jammies with your coffee.Don't you just love the coziness of your home when it is like this outside. Take alot of those snowy shots. We need them here in Texas
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs. I've been wanting to read "The Kitchen House." My book club met tonight and we chose "Canada" by Richard Ford.
ReplyDeleteLove these shots, your pup and the chilled toy.. priceless, the barn beautiful, and you're right it's all our perspective. I'm off work, and L&I injury and on light duty, but they don't have any for me... so I'm just off...
ReplyDeleteI love snow too, because we don't get it very often. Love your barn shot!
ReplyDeleteWell, these are just gorgeous! Love the birdhouse, and the bird bath, and hydrangea and....I just love them all. We didn't watch the super bowl either since both the kids were invited to parties, the hubby was too sad to watch so we went to a movie...hey I wasn't about to complain! lol
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got your much longed for snowfall! Everyone who is complaining about it needs to learn how to look for the good in things....good is there if you look hard enough.
ReplyDeleteI love your puppy!!! He is adorable and so playful! The birdbath looks great with snow...that alone would make me want it to snow!
Enjoy your book while the snow is covering the ground. You deserve some happiness!
Beautiful photos and I love the barn photo! Nice quote too!
ReplyDeletesome wonderful images here Deanna and I smile when I see your frosty birdbath. Such a sharp contrast to mine at this time of year ...
ReplyDeleteOh such pretty snow. We've been getting a fresh dusting of snow each night. Each morning it look so pretty out, but not enough to make the roads too bad. That barn looks so pretty in the snow!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness you take beautiful pictures. I love the blue in the snow and the dog trying to fetch a frozen ball is quite cute. I like your barn too. MB
ReplyDeleteVery nice Deanna - so happy you received your "snow." :)
ReplyDeleteYou did get some snow! And very pretty snow, I might add. Love the series with Toby! Going to check out that book you mentioned ...
