Dear Ladies Luncheon, you were so much fun and tasty. Since the theme of the event was teapots, I decorated a table with all of my Mary Englebreight teapots. The food was yummy and the after lunch program was presented by an official laughologist, yep you read that correctly, a laugh - ologist...someone who specializes in laughter and it's benefits. She had us performing all sorts of laughing exercises. Apparently laughing really improves your health. Maybe that is why I have remained healthy most of my life...I usually laugh everyday, mostly at myself.
Dear Morton Arboretum...you give me such pleasure, especially at this time of the year with your acres of gorgeous trees and blooming spring flowers.
Dear Broken Pipe....I hope you don't cost too much to repair. It's my own fault, I left the hose hooked up to the outside water faucet over winter which we are told each year to unhook your hoses and put away for the winter, but did I listen to those wise instructions....no.... and apparently it froze and has now decided to burst and cause water to start pouring down my basement walls. Guess I won't forget that lesson next year.
Dear Dandelions....I love taking your picture, but I don't love you growing in my yard. Would you please find somewhere else to grow, pretty please. I promise I will continue to take your picture even if you are not growing in my yard.

Have a great weekend everyone....
Until next time.....
Sounds like you are busy, and I am looking forward to seeing your new patio. Sorry about the broken pipe - that is a pain you don't need :( But your flowers and springy photos are fab - we have a light frost on our roof this morning...
ReplyDeleteOh yuck to the broken pipe -- I hope it's not too costly.
ReplyDeleteHave to admit the dandelion photo is my favorite. :)
Oh, my, I can identify with so much of this! We broke our outdoor hydrant, leaving it open and hooked to a hose with a shut-off valve. There's going to be quite a bit of digging involved to replace it, too. Like you, lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteNow you have me wanting to lay out in the yard photographing weeds. :)
Have a great weekend!
Connie
these are dynamite photos, WOW and huge on my screen so look amazingly real. Had the frozen pipe dilemma for the same reason, oh well it is fixable, hope not too costly...
ReplyDeleteOh I can' wait to see the finished back yard project! What a cheery table! All that red made me smile! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteCiao Deanna. Your photos are enchanting, as always! Have a lovely Friday and weekend ahead. :)
ReplyDeleteOh man, hope you get your water pipe fixed and that it didn't cause too much damage. Beautiful photos, and I hope you have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely quote and dandelion, Deanna!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your yard project and water pipe.
Have a fabulous weekend.
Oooh sorry for the broken pipe! I think I need to go to that arboretum with you, what a great place, and love the dandelion with that hint of purple on the bottom!
ReplyDeleteOh and I forgot the table...wow, the table!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!! Love the way you do your Random 5!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy week you've had! Can't wait to see the patio when it's done. Bummer about the pipe. :(
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful photos. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a fun week for you, envious as I spent the week having a procedure done on my back. But hey there is always next week for fun.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, and such interesting random 5 facts! I hope the patio project continues to go well and that the broken pipe is easy and inexpensive to fix.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit that arboretum. And such a lovely table!
frozen pipes are big dangers here, too. we don't have basements to protect them from the cold. love the blue hanging flowers!
ReplyDeleteThe dear dandelion cracked me up. They seem to be really abundant this year, must be the particular combination of rain and temperatures...oh yea and that the guy across the street refuses to realize they're weeds and it looks like he's trying to grow the biggest crop ever!!! Argh Happy Friday

Too cool! I'm on my way to lunch with friends at the home of one of the mom's, who passed away this year. She had hundreds of teapots, and Brenda is going to give us one.
ReplyDeleteHappy 5Day! I love Mary E -- cute table. Hope the plumbing bill isn't too bad. Love to visit arboretums and botanical gardens. This one looks lovely. Really like the dandelion image (sorry)! You did have a busy week.
ReplyDeleteNo! Not a boken pipe! :(
ReplyDeleteI would love to have heard the laughologist. Sounds fun.. and laugh inducing.
I feel the same way about the wonderful Hoyt Arboretum out here in Portland, OR. :)
A new patio - awesome! I'm happy you found a good person for the project. I laugh a lot, also - and mostly at myself. Having it keep me healthy would be a great side-benefit (besides the fact that I really do just love to laugh). Good luck with the pipe - sounds like something I would have done. I hope it's not too costly to get it fixed!
ReplyDeleteI've always heard that laughter is the best medicine. I believe that...especially when one can laugh at oneself. I have a couple of dandelions on my blog today, too. I kind of like them growing in my yard though. We live in the woods and there's no way to prevent it other than chemicals. I'll take the dandelions over the chemicals any day.
ReplyDeleteLove your shots Deanna! and you have the same teapots that I have. Aren't they cute!! Sounds as if you had a great week, except sorry about that burst pipe. Sure you will remember that this fall.
ReplyDeleteEleanor Roosevelt had such great quotes! Your tablescape is darling and sounds like such a fun day! Love those blue bells! Too bad about your pipe! :( Hope your weekend is happy! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAs always, your photos are stunning :) Love your tablescape and your day sounded delightful.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend.
Hugs to you!
The tablescape is so adorable...how could you not have a delightful time?!
ReplyDeleteBusy indeed.. wow on the table setting just beautiful. Rest of your post made me smile. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour site and style make me smile, Deanna! Such awesome images, and there's a feeling of happiness in your posts, although I am sorry to hear about that broken pipe. Sure would love to cross paths with a laughologist ... I know I sure could learn to laugh a bit more, myself .. at myself!! lol! Visiting from Floral Love ... hope you have a happy weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh these are pretty!
ReplyDeletePopping over to admire your flowers and to thank you for joining Floral Love!

A friend of mine's sister is a laughologist...I've never seen her do her thing, but I can't help but think it's quite an odd career! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post this is! And beautiful images. I don't photograph dandelions but maybe if I did they would go away! G
ReplyDeleteLook at that table. It is beautiful. I would of loved to hear the laughologist.. I do believe you are right laughter is the best medicine.
ReplyDeleteHugs~
