How exciting, we have a new little royal in our midst. I wish Princess Kate, Prince William and the new little one (unnamed) all the best on this new journey. I have read where they plan on bringing up this child as normal as possible without a arsenal of nannies...I wish them well.
And speaking of Princess Kate....I found her pregnancy and her choice of clothing so appropriate not only for a princess but for a pregnant lady in general. Last night was Bunco night here and we postulated on today's maternity fashions...you can certainly tell by listening to our conversation that we are not of this young generation that literally bares all and wears their pregnancy fashion as tight as humanly possible.....we all sided with the lovely Kate and her choices of fashion throughout her pregnancy.
And then we have this....just sayin' Darn you Demi Moore for starting this whole trend....I know I will probably get blasted for this, but it's this old lady's opinion...sometimes you just can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Well, it's done....the fence that is. Last night with the girls coming they unfortunately decided to use the side gate, my mistake, I should have put out a warning sign....and with the opening and closing several times, the ole fence post just snapped and down she went. Ofcourse this all started with my grand-dog, Mac who decided that hopping the fence was his favorite pastime while staying here, resulting in his leaps and bounds really doing a number on the fence. So that project of replacing the fence that I wanted to postpone until next year ain't gonna happen....it's gonna happen this year, like it or not. So now I am off to fence shop...somehow that doesn't have the same ring to it as shopping for new clothes or new furniture or new flowers or plants for the garden. Think I will look at vinyl fencing....no maintenance has a nice ring to it. They have come a long way since vinyl fencing first came on the scene and the no upkeep with re-painting would make me a happy lady.
And since today is Tuesday Muse over at Nancy's place....here is quote I found on Pinterest (I love that site...eye candy for sure!!!!) using a texture on a sweet image I captured at a fav garden center called "Deanna"...oh that's my name (!) what a coincidence...hee hee!! I love those little flecks of gold throughout the texture. Thanks again, Nancy!!
And I do remember the moment I finally had the courage to accept what had unfolded in my life...
And PS....I so apologize for not getting around to everyone lately who has so lovingly commented on my blog...I have been busier than a one armed paper hanger..only to get busier as the week progresses.
Linking with Nancy's Tuesday Muse....
Until next time.....
your screened porch looks like a great place to spend time. good luck with the fence/gate!
ReplyDeleteYour back screen porch sounds like a brilliant idea, so nice and sunny. A new royal brings great excitement in our family, it's hard not to love this royal couple and their little one. My thoughts are similar to yours about Kate's clothing choices too...
ReplyDeleteBetter Homes & Gardens would do well to photograph (or better yet, use your photos) of your porch - absolutely gorgeous in every way. I would LOVE a screened porch - once played with the idea but the money refused to play along. I am totally with you on the whole pregnancy photo phenom. I really don't want to see their belly - I don't care if you do call it a 'baby bump' - it does not appeal to me regardless of how many booties or toy blocks or blue/pink ribbons they put on or around it. My son commended the other day about someone having a "good body" and they should be proud of it and comfortable with showing it off. Uh, no! Doesn't the unexpected viewer get a vote in this game? oh, I could go on and on - but I suspect you get my feelings on the subject.
ReplyDeleteYour quote and photo is a good one. Courage indeed!
Awesome porch.....they're so.....romantic.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Princess Kate .... she is so dignified and lovely and some celebs here could learn from her.
Have a great week! :-D
Your screened porch looks like a great place to hang out. Beautiful processing of that last image.
ReplyDeleteYour 22 years, accounting for Leap Years, comes to 8036 days which comes to less than $.50/day..... What a bargain for so much pleasure!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your fence, but glad you got that one armed thing down.!!! Love your screened in porch. Aren't they amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm finding that by looking around at other's blogs that I am mooning over decks and screened porches. Not going to happen any time soon, but it's fun to dream.
ReplyDeleteLovely images today -- hope you have good luck with your new fence!
Been there, done that. Concrete slab ... screened porch ... finally last year ... 3-season room. It is my favorite spot in the house. {And the honey with cinnamon sounds wonderful ... can't wait to try it in my tea!}
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming space!! And I agree, the Princess is the perfect example of grace, modesty, and style!
ReplyDeleteYour porch looks lovely, Deanna, and so inviting. I hope you will have time to spend there this week. I don't care for the "belly" shots either, but, having never had the experience I figured I just didn't get it. Love the rich texture on your image. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteDeanna,
ReplyDeleteI love the color theme of your back porch! It sounds and looks well worth your investment. As you know, there is no dollar value on personal happiness. Awesome job with you last photo, quote and the texture.
I love your sun room! It's so bright! My mom turned her patio into a sun room, but I don't think she enjoys it as much as she thought she would.
ReplyDeleteI've seen vinyl fence and it really looks nice!
I agree with you on today's maternity clothes...heck, that's the way ALL young women's clothes are now. And they are too low! And too tight! I wish loose clothing would come back into style.
I love your screen in porch! Well worth the investment indeed! We have a screened in porch with glass slats that open and close. But it has become a "catch-all" place for tools and such. Not a pretty room. Maybe someday . . .
ReplyDeleteI think Kate is very classy.
I love the quote in the last photo. I try to learn that lesson, but it's so very hard.
It's a joy to visit!
ReplyDeleteLove all the bright colors in your photos. And I wholeheartedly agree with you on Kate and her sense of maternity fashion!
ReplyDeleteYour porch is beautiful, Deanna, and looks so inviting. I also agree with you about the maternity fashions worn these days. Kate is a beautiful, classy lady and dressed stylishly throughout her pregnancy. Not only am I weary of seeing the tight clothes showing off the ever-expanding big bellys, but I'm also weary of seeing all the boobs being displayed in those lowcut tees and tops that so many love to wear, too. Sigh. I guess I'm getting old!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely and I love quote!
Should read "the quote"...sorry!
ReplyDeleteOhhh your screened porch.. I've seen so many beautiful photos that have been taken there. The colors are eye candy! Sorry about your fence, but vinyl is the way to go. We did and love it.
ReplyDeleteI love your screened porch - what a wonderful place to sit and muse! I'm going to have to agree with you on maternity fashion - I'm not loving the look of tight t-shirts. Your photo and quote are beautiful!
ReplyDeletegood morning Deanna...right now i am picturing you sitting on that lovely porch of yours enjoying that first sip of your morning coffee...such lovely photos. Yes...a prince was born and it was not Bambi! giggle...
ReplyDeleteI'll probably get blasted too BUT...totally with ya on the pregnancy "thang". And your porch looks like a perfect place to sit back and relax! An obviously wise investment. When we moved into our current house we had a screened porch. But I truly wanted to enjoy our outdoors year round so I had it converted into a sun room. Best investment I made! We live in that window filled room practically all the time. And when I open up all the casement windows, it once again reverts to a screened in porch.
ReplyDeleteI don't know a soul, who couldn't go out to your back porch with a glass of ice tea and not be uplifted, no matter what is bothering them. Too precious.
ReplyDeleteGot to agree on the porch. They are the best things ever. I totally agree about maternity fashions. Princess Kate, well done!
ReplyDeleteYour porch sounds absolutely perfect for sitting and relaxing! There's just something about a porch, isn't there?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with fence shopping! ugh! :)
xo
I always enjoy reading your posts. I have to agree with the maternity fashion thing.
ReplyDeleteWonderful would love a porch lovely quote as well...
ReplyDeleteYour porch sounds lovely. We have a great porch. But, it's not screened. In Texas, you know that means spraying ourselves with mosquito repellent, every evening. That...nor the heat, nor cold...keep us from sitting out there, every day.
ReplyDeleteLove your muse photo, the texture and the quote. It is, indeed, a good moment, when we take that deep breath, and just accept what God has given us.
Thanks for sharing....
What a lovely and welcoming porch you have, Deanna! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a happy summer day!
I can see why you love that porch.. It is beautiful. I just love the happy colors you used to decorate. Makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Your porch is so inviting. Makes me want to redo my sunroom. But, guess that will wait. The car air-conditioner compressor had to be replaced at the tune of 1100 dollars. yep, I'll wait on the sunroom.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely and what a great space your screened in area is. Very nice. Love the texture on your last picture and the quote. I will only add that I agree about Princess Kate ~ yes, very tasteful and shows class ~
ReplyDeletevisiting from Tuesday Muse. :)
You certainly have talent - in so many areas. Your porch could be in a magazine - with a story line how to properly do a porch.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the LOVE you pack in to your sharing.
Thanks!
