Prior to entering the garden we were treated to a 3D film on the flight and life of the Monarch Butterfly, that alone was worth the price of the ticket. And then we entered the doors to the garden....oh what a delight. Hundreds of butterflies flying free, landing on flowers and plants, sidewalks and benches, on your back, in your hair, on your arm....everywhere.
Today was her birthday and everyone told her it was good luck day when a butterfly landed on your hand. Sounds good to me.
Wonder what it means to have one land in your hair, your back, your arms, your shoulders??....I had them all over me, everywhere except my hand.
A literal wonderland of beauty......
"Beautiful and graceful, varied and enchanting, small but approachable, butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life. And everyone deserves a little sunshine." ~Jeffrey Glassberg
Until next time....

ReplyDeleteglad you made it safely back home.
Oh gosh- that was a wonderful look at butterflies! How exciting to walk through their little world.
ReplyDeleteWonderful and absolutely beautiful photographs.
ReplyDeleteA few hours away from where you live you can find the Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan and they also have a butterfly garden. Plus many, many other gardens.
It is also a gorgeous center.
So, so many pretties. It is hard to come back to cold once you have had a brief interlude with warm - it just is. You got some awesome pictures.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home . . . even though it is a return to the bitter cold and snow!
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing creatures! Wow - simply amazing how majestic a delicate creature can be.
ReplyDeleteSo remarkable and diverse.
ReplyDeleteThese are incredibly beautiful shots, Deanna.
ReplyDeleteThese are just so beautiful and so many I didn't get a picture of when I was there, Terri told me there were more than when we were there. They are so gorgeous just flying by on everything. You really captured them beautifully.
ReplyDeleteSorry you had to go back so soon wish you could have just been dropped off and then I could have picked you up and brought you up here for another week. Oh we did have fun so we have to be grateful. :) Have a good week.
Incredible shots Deanna! So glad you're having a good time!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots of the butterflies! How fun to have them land on you.
ReplyDeleteYou have given us a look at paradise! Your photos are absolutely gorgeous, and that's no exaggeration. I especially love the third one down. That would be perfect framed or on a card. I'm glad you got back home safely. At least you have these wonderful photos to remind you of warmth and sunlight. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell my friend I didn't even log into my computer for about 3 weeks.. How sad is that. But I had good reason.. Your photos here are amazing. I am not all that far from phoenix now maybe I should take a trip..

ReplyDeleteWhat an experience! Your captures are amazing!
ReplyDeletefantastic Deanna; I'd love to see these too like you did
ReplyDeleteIsn't that movie so, so great! I want to go to Arizona, just for these butterflies...and I'm afraid I would have to be peeled off the ceiling. Beautiful photos!! (and welcome back)
ReplyDeleteI'd never leave... These are simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteStunning they are so magical...
ReplyDeleteLove seeing this magical place through your eyes! You do feel like you've been dropped into an amazing world when you walk through this place and I was so happy there were so many the day we were there. But as beautiful as all of your photos are, what strikes me when I read this post is the way you always find a child to photograph in any setting you're in. You talk to them (you even found out that it was her birthday!) and capture them in a way that speaks volumes about how much you love children, and really people in general. It's one of the things I love most about you, my friend. Thanks for sharing these -- makes me feel like I'm back among the butterflies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful choice of so many beautiful butterflies. What a sweet little birthday girl too!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh these photos are stunning. Wow what a wonderful experience for you. These butterflies are just gorgeous. I would have LOVED seeing them and I know you did. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a great trip.
I bet your 'kids' were glad to see you.
Such wonderfully gorgeous photos! So glad that you had a great trip! While it might be cold outside, you certainly brought a bit of sunshine and Spring to the surface with this beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteDeanna, these photographs are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWe have a butterfly conservatory here, and it is wonderful to go there on a cold winter day.
It feels like you are on a tropical island, and the butterflies are so beautiful.
I am glad you had a wonderful trip
Each and everyone of these is beautiful! I can't wait to I see Butterfly Wonderland ... and I know I will! While I would have loved being there this time, I'm just happy to know you all had such a marvelous time together ... not that there was ever any doubt. :-D
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, these are beautiful! When I look out at the vast white snow in my yard, it is hard to believe butterflies will once again grace the yard with their color. I cannot wait!
ReplyDeleteYou are not the only one being so far behind in blog posts and commenting on other blogs ;) but when I visited you, there were lots of Ohhh's and Ahhhh's... so many gorgeous butterflies!
ReplyDeleteSnow is still nowhere to be found in the Netherlands and I'm confused because of the Spring temperatures. I don't know if I have to wish for snow or to hope for Spring to arrive early.
Welcome home...It certainly looks like your vacation was fun and loaded with opportunities to click away....These butterflies are just breathtaking and makes me yearn for the warmer weather to come again.....
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies are gorgeous! I'm always amazed at how you can capture such wonderful shots of strangers - you have a real gift there!
