Slowly, ever so slowly I walked toward the robin clicking away.....
Obviously he was looking for Mom and food, probably food more than Mom....
Mom, where are you?
Are you over there?
Maybe over this way?
Have you seen my Mom? (notice where the right leg is, probably trying to balance his young legs)
Maybe she didn't hear me, I'll chirp really loud this time....
Could you be up there?
Finally he took off and flew right smack into the house, falling and landing on the electric box below. Is he blind?? I mean the house is pretty large not to see it looming in front of you. As I walked up to the electric box perch, he flew off again, this time landing on the roof of the porch and hopped up to it's peak, so I guessed he was OK, probably just dazed and confused and hungry. The chirping continued but I do think Mom finally heard the message. An adult robin flew into the garden, pecking away, foraging for food and shortly thereafter the chirping stopped. He was satisfied and so was my palate after drinking the wine.
And just because, another peony shot....
And on a final note....Friday night was my daughter's (who owns a dance studio) dance recital. This year it was Mary Poppins....so cute, loved it. Just one of many shots I took Friday night....Mary & Bert, are they not perfect!!

Until next time....
Cute story on the baby Robin. I hope it was Ok. Sitting out on your porch with a glass of wine enjoying the sights, sounds very relaxing.. I love all the photos. Enjoy your day and the new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThe baby robin is so cute!! Sounds entertaining and relaxing to sit out there with a glass of wine!
ReplyDeleteVery refreshing and sweet post. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThe baby robin pics are fantastic! I particularly like the fourth one down showing his little ruffled feathers. So cute. Gorgeous peonies. Mine bloomed when we were in North Carolina. Bummer! So I will enjoy yours instead.
ReplyDeleteThe baby robin is so cute! I hope he was not too stunned by the crash..they can die from that kind of shock so easy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday!
baby robins are so darn cute at that stage when they still have that 'monk hair' frizzle on the sides. :) be well, little one!
ReplyDeleteLooking at those wild hairs, I'm guessing that flying is still very new to this chick. Normally by the time I lumbar into the other room to grab my camera and return, whatever I had intended to photograph has flown the coop or skedaddled.
ReplyDeleteAww, love the baby robin pics :-) I have the problem of birds suddenly wanting to turn their tushes towards my camera at last minute, lol..
ReplyDeleteOkay - your baby bird pic reminded me SO much of one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books - "Are You My Mother?" Only you just brought it to life! Loved it!
ReplyDeletePrecious baby Robin calling for moms . . .
ReplyDeleteHope there are no more looming buildings to block his view . . .
More peonies please, fine with me, soooo pretty!
What fun to see a dance rectal and know your daughter is bringing on the show . . .
Totally reminds me of the children's book "Are You My Mother?"... Love it!
