Scavenger Hunt Sunday - The May 27, 2012 Edition

It is 6:20 AM Sunday morning and I am just now putting this together....I have had these challenges written down and meant to focus on them all week, but guess what....NOT.  So here I am again scrambling at the last minute, yurk.  The challenges this week are:
  • Beneath my feet
  • Capturing movement
  • Texture
  • Face your Fears
  • Currently
Toby is always beneath my feet....

Capturing Movement - Love to watch the birds enjoying the bird bath...and the way the droplets of water look like little stars, I think it is the "shoot thru the screen porch effect"...

Texture -  There is nothing grander than the textures of nature....

Face your fears....I guess the growing old thing is probably my greatest fear, especially as I do grow older.  I don't think it is so much the growing older, it's what can happen along the way.   I want to be one of those old ladies that is still mowing her own grass at 85. Here I am, with wrinkles smile lines, no make-up, definitely showing my age....

Currently - doing battle with the flies on the back porch - see here

And something more pleasant....watching the birds feed

Linking all this to Ashley's Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  Have a great holiday weekend and God Bless America!!

Until next time.....

  1. The stars you caught while that bird was taking a bath are awesome! I think you just invented a new lens filter-screen! Quick! Get a patent on that one!

  4. These are all great - I especially like the shot of you. Seems the older we get, the faster it goes - very frightening.

  8. WOW, Deanna!! You may have scrambled to get these images but they are wonderful!!
I LOVE beneath your feet. The bird bath is great - I wish I had one but I would possibly waste all day as I love bird photography.
Your selfie is great! I hate selfies... I prefer to be behind the camera :) I figure you don't feel your age so you are off to a good start as it's all about attitude. My parents are 83 & 78, still working as doctors, travelling all over the place and doing things most their age wouldn't do. I hope to be at like that at their age.

  13. You always capture just the right shot for the word! And I'm w/you about aging! I don't have many smile lines but it's because I have lots of natural collagen! Have a great week!

  15. I like all your interpretations of the challenges. Toby beneath your feet is a good one. Great texture too! You are very brave to post your photo of yourself sans makeup. I was in a dept. store dressing room yesterday and oh my goodness, it was impossible to miss the aging process. Still I'm happy to have this body with all its natural flaws. It serves me well and I hopeit continues to do so for quite a few more years.

  16. Great shots - I hear you on growing old...I try to avoid looking at the person in the mirror who is supposed to be me, but I truly believe wrinkles add such beautiful character to a face!

  17. Awww, your littleToby is so cute!! I love the one of your eye; so honest, pure, and a beautiful color. I wear my wrinkles proudly! I actually like getting older, but like you, I want to be able to stay active into my 80s, hopefully beyond if I live that long. I watched my mother suffer with Parkinson's and that is no way to end your days. Anyway, great scavenger hunt!
