Today was no exception. I have been so busy this week when the skies were gorgeously blue and the sun was shining like diamonds, that I didn't have much of an opportunity to get out, so today was the day. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I packed my bag, the winds picked up, I heard a little roll of thunder and then here comes the drops. According to my trusty I-Phone, the weather app revealed that it soon would be clearing, so off I went for some morning fuel (a stop at Panera's for an orange scone and coffee) and then to the Arboretum.
Random 5 -
- One of my guilty pleasure TV watching is "Sleepy Hollow", and really lovin' "The Black List". I must have a dark side that I keep buried....hee hee!
- Our new Bible study entitled "With" has me thinking more than any other study we have done for the past 4 years
- Since my friend, Bonnie shared her trunk full of Honey Crisp apples, I have been eating an apple a day....keep that Dr. away (I hope)
- The 2 dogs are becoming distant friends....Toby tried playing with Cinder in the yard, but she had no idea what he was doing. Is she a little princess or what??
- This was the week I was to leave for that wonderful trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy, but cancelled (postponed). Didn't feel comfortable being so far away from my sweetie, so a trip to the Great Smoky Mtns. for a week of photography, snapping & learning is planned in its place. Italy will still be there when the time is right.
Loved this lichen growing all over this pine tree..!!
All you bird people, help me out...what kind of a fine feathered friend is this??
I sure would appreciate you stopping over at my collaborative blog, Focusing on Life, to check out what other beautiful things I found today.

Until next time....
some great photos here Deanna; is it the D7000 that is your 'new' camera? It seems you were using that one earlier in the year so I'm not sure what you have updated with; I seem to have missed that detail somewhere and am interested. I love the first scenic photo and the pine tree one especially. You will get great value from the week away I can see.
ReplyDeleteHi Deanna Your photographs are awesome. Love the clarity, colour and close ups. Looked over on the other site and am blown away by your close up photography. The raindrops from berries etc is amazing the the one with the sunlight in it is fabulous. Just remind us what camera are you using for the close ups please.
ReplyDeleteLove your shots here Deanna! What is this about the new camera? I have missed this. What did you get?? I am totally loving my D 800. The D 7000 is still not back from the shop, but know that it is now going to be relegated to the backup camera. A big difference between the two. Yes, it is sad not to be leaving for italy today, but Door County is coming up next week, and then after I come back from that, am going to spend a week in Arkansas at a bit craft fair there in the mountains, so this will have to do for now. I did get a note from the villa asking about us, and sent her a reply..... later. So am still planning the Italy trip in awhile. So what is that camera???? Beautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous autumn post and so many photos! Fall is for sure a wonderful season to tryout your new camera. I've just visited you on FOL, oh I've enjoyed my visit and admired all your berry shots, so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWw - i don't think the teaching an old dog new tricks really applies, here - your photos are awesome - it looks as though you're having no trouble learning the ways of your new camera! I'm sorry you had to postpone your trip to Italy, but your upcoming photo trip sounds great!
ReplyDeletei love "Sleepy Hallow" such a great show. love it so far. ( :
ReplyDeletei wonder where they will take it next?
My mom and I are loving "sleepy hollow"!! My mom lives two towns away from the actual Sleepy Hollow so it's fun for us!
ReplyDeleteOh this post makes me want to get out of my house and take some pictures!

ReplyDeleteaptly named yellow-rumped warbler. :)
ReplyDeleteglad your pups are getting more used to each other. your fall colors are beautiful. and i love the black list, too. :)
Oh lovely Deanna I can't enough of those Autumn shots. Sleepy Hollow and The Blacklist are due to start in the UK in the next few weeks so I'm looking forward to trying them. Have a great weekend..
ReplyDeleteSounds like you made the right decision to postpone the Italy trip. Heck, the mountains in fall sound just as good, and with a new camera to boot! Loving your fall images. We don't get that kind of color here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall images! Honey Crisp apples are yummy!
ReplyDeleteLovely fall photos! I love how you capture "pieces" of a tree or foliage--very stunning. Honey crisps are so good, it makes it easy to have that one-a-day. :-) The Great Smoky Mountains sound wonderful. It has been some years since I've been, so I'll look forward to your photos!
ReplyDeleteYour photography is incredible. I have yet to see Sleepy Hollow my intentions are always good but my lazy boy has a different thought:) I will catch it eventually:) B
ReplyDeleteWow the fall images are just stunning. I'd love a camera like yours too if I could take pictures like that with it.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a nice cold crisp apple on a fall day - Yum!
To bad about the Italy trip (hopeful you'll still go someday) but looking forward to your Smoky Mtn. photos.
Haven't gotten into any of the shows like Sleephollow, Walking Dead etc...I guess my "dark side" hasn't come out yet!
Beautiful photos! We are loving Sleepy Hollow too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall colors!!
ReplyDeleteYou are right Italy will always be there. The Smokies will be beautiful, the important part is just getting away for a while and doing something you love.
ReplyDeleteGreat that the pups are now getting used to each other. Mine don't play together much at all -- so I figure that's "normal." Lol.
ReplyDeleteLovely Autumn shots -- so glad you were able to dodge the raindrops.
I so enjoy your posts.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful way with your photos and your stories.
Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThis is truly my most favorite time of year! I can see you share this too! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh my, your shots are stunning! I really like the pine needle close up. I've also gotten sucked into Sleepy Hollow, which is a complete surprise to me. Guess it's the Halloween aspect of it all. :-)
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Friday Finds.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of autumn!
ReplyDeleteBig fans of honeycrisps here too!
I have a bird site that's amazing and you can pinpoint what your looking for. I'll have to find it and send it to you. I know you have a new camera-but what model and lens did you get. Your photos are even more amazing. The mountains are going to be amazing.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photos as much as the random 5! East Tennessee is a wonderful place to be in the fall...
