Most Mornings....

Saturday mornings well actually almost any morning, my ritual is, wake up - use the facilities (aka toilet) - let the kids out the door for them to use their facilities (aka front yard) - fetch the newspaper off of the driveway (still haven't taught the kids how to do that) - feed the kids - start the coffee - wait patiently for said coffee to complete it's dripping - pour that first cup - sip and marvel at the fusion of sweetener & coffee creamer - sit in favorite chair and read the newspaper. In spite of all that is available on the internet, I am still one of the few that enjoys reading a real newspaper, holding it and reading it in b&w.  I gather tidbits, cut out articles and simply enjoy the drinking of coffee and reading the newspaper to begin my days.  For this I am grateful.

Until next time.....

  5. Perfect morning. My mornings are mostly the same except I tend to catch up with things (my family) on Facebook and other Internet happenings whilst enjoying my coffee.

  7. Our town has moved to the paper on-line 4 days out of the week and 3 days we get an actual print copy. I only read it on the real days. I tend to get my blog reading done while I eat breakfast :)

  8. Love my mornings that start out with Joe. You and I have a similar routine, except instead of a paper I use the ipad. :) Enjoy your weekend!

  9. I'm right there with you, Deanna. I love a real newspaper. And now that I'm retired, I love that I can read it front to back with my breakfast. And of course, I love that 'signature' mug!

  10. That's quite an awesome mug!!!!
I love getting up before my husband and just sitting with the paper and having my cup of coffee.
It's my wake-up time before the day really gets going.

  13. Yep, nearly the same thing here . . . although instead of the paper, mine is a sit on the front porch and a walk through the garden to spot any critters! haha

  15. Sounds like a wonderful way to start the day! After using the "facilities," our first order of business is feeding the critter, too. Coffee while reading the paper--a wonderful combination!

  17. Sounds like a great start to the day. I don't read the paper, and try not to listen to too much news...it's all bad anyway. My caffeine of choice is a Dr Pepper...I have never been able to get used to the taste of coffee.

  21. Your routine sounds like a great way to gather your thoughts and begin your day. I read only electronically now - in fact, last week I took 7 boxes of books to the library. I'm much lighter since this remodel began!
