Sunday Series 52 - Number 1

I am excited to join Nancy's "A Rural Journal" Sunday Series 52 (please pop over and admire all the other entries) that runs every Sunday for 52 weeks....each week a new challenge.  Red is the challenge for this week, and since red is one of my fav decorating colors I did not have any trouble finding red.  I think the instructions were to take at least 3 shots of the same subject using different angles, lenses, etc.  I hope I am not breaking the rules, but I took shots of all the different reds in my kitchen.  The subject (kitchen) is the same, just not the object.  So here goes.....

Oh, I failed to mention that along with red, cherries are a fav decorating theme (also red).  I think you will be able to pick that up when viewing the next few images.

Salt & Pepper shakers that sit atop the stove....

Cute little plate rack with sweet red cherries on each one.....

And the cannister set also with the cheery cherries.....

The plates are red and have a cherry motif...(so what else is new)

Not cherries, but red and in the kitchen.  These miniture toys sit sweetly on my kitchen windowsill reminding me of days gone by.

So that dear ones, is my take on Sunday Series 52 - #1.  Hope your Sunday is full of delight!!

The Meaning of Color

Today's Picture Color's prompt was "The Meaning of Color"....well, I went a little nuts, images just kept coming, it was almost embarrassing the number I posted...5 total, and I probably could have posted even more, but I decided it was time to stop...

Sunny's green eyes....green with envy

Tickled pink to be participating in "Picture Color"  Have made so many great friends thru these classes.

"orange ya glad we met" oh so corny....

Love these shoes...could never stand in these, let alone walk in them.

Have seen these images many times but have never taken a turn at taking a shot.  Decided now was the time.  "I can read in red, I can read in blue, and I can read in pickle too."  Dr. Suess from I CAN READ WITH MY EYES SHUT

I posted this on flickr probably a month or more ago, right when the roses first began to sprout their beautiful, fresh, new leaves, but lately quite a few flickrmates have been adding this to their favorite's.  It always makes me wonder "why now"??  I did like the wonderful softness of this image.

And finally, a daisy really close-up....he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me!!!

Pink

I love the color pink almost as much as I love the color red.  But when you think about it....pink is really just a lighter color of red.

This sweetie is a neighbor that NEVER let me take her picture.  But today was special, she was mesmerized by Toby and couldn't stop talking about him so while she was talking I was shooting.  She also loves pink, check out that hat and those little pink earrings.   This week's challenge at Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday is people.  I usually never add a texture to images with people so this was a real challenge.  I think this worked.

I couldn't resist making one more pinwheel...and this one a pretty, pretty pink polka dot with a little glitter in the center.

The coneflower burst into bloom yesterday, I love this one....it has multiple layers of petals, and that bright orange center is wonderful.

A beautiful soft pink begonia.

Loved this little crock, picked it up on sale, but I now know why it was on sale....it leaks, note the water on the table.

This is an older image, taken in the spring, but I think the Dogwoods are exquisite...they are so perfect they almost don't look real.

And what would a collection of pink flowers be without the rose...nothing more perfect.  The beauty of pink in flowers is astounding.  But then, nature itself is astounding.

A little bling....my Mom's pin, she loved her jewelry.  Her absolute favorite color was pink.

And finally, I love pink so much that our living room is pink...it is relaxing and cozy and just makes you feel good.

Blue

Today's prompt for Picture Color was "Blue Skies Ahead" which meant that the theme would be blue, any color blue, anything blue, just blue so.....here are a few blues

Sweet Blue....little angel that hangs in the guest bedroom

Silly Blue....finger puppet with great bokeh background....took this on the back porch and the background is the white shades that were probably flapping in the breeze, thus causing this great looking bokeh....sometimes you just get lucky.

Classic Blue - my fav Levi jean vest

Gorgeous Blue - Delphiniums at The Growing Place....no way can I grow these beauties, I just take their picture and pretend.

Reflective Blue...a mosaic garden ornament, another Growing Place find...

Beach Blue....not really the beach, a local sandbox, but we can pretend, right??

Hand Painted Blue....My Mom's jewelry jar

A Sweet Message Blue....little plaque

White on White

Yesterday afternoon I picked these little chive flowers from the garden, added them to this cute little vase that I picked up at a garage sale, uploaded the picture to my online group, Prompt Addicts, because the theme for the week is SIMPLE and was so surprised when it was EXPLORED!!   I am so honored when I am chosen for EXPLORE, 500 photos a day are chosen from all that are uploaded and there are about 5,000 photos a minute uploaded to FLICKR.  I wonder how they do it, and what they base it on, but I get real excited when one of mine is chosen.  This is my 5th image chosen since I joined FLICKR last September. I just had to tell someone.   Oh well, enough of that.

Today was white on white for Picture Color.  I know this isn't all white but I wanted to show off my new summer watch and it did have a white face and a white band...I love this cute watch, it is so fun and perfect for summertime wear.  Tomorrow is Texture Tuesday on the Kim Klassen website.  The prompt was ofcourse to use at least one of Kim's textures and to add words to the image.  So, this is my pick for Texture Tuesday.

I also added this to Picture Color for the White on White theme.  I  have to admit I shot this in January when all the bright Christmas colors had been packed away and the outside was nothing but drifts of snow, I must have been in a white mood.

And while we are on the subject of white, here are a few more.....the tulip, a Trader Joe's purchase, the foxglove taken at Home Depot (a great place to buy flowers and also to take pictures of the flowers that you don't buy) and lastly, a beautiful white clemantis from Lisa's garden.  Love the touch of purple in the stamens.

Comments are always welcome!!  Until next time.....
