I love Fridays....it is the day Catherine and I grab our cameras and go.... This week was special for Catherine, she bought a new camera. After seeing all of my photos and doing a ton of research (she's like that and she's really smart too) she bought a Nikon D7000 and a Tamron 18-270mm lens just like mine. I love my new camera and I love that Tamron lens. It is so incredibly versatile, it is usually the only lens I take on our Friday Foto Fun days. I can take macro shots or wide angle, love that lens, oh I think I said that already, but I do love that lens. Today was supposed to be really HOT...upper 90's with heat warnings. Well, Mother Nature sure fooled the weathermen again. It was cloudy, breezy and never got out of the low 80's. Fine with me. We headed to the Planter's Palette for their Perennial Festival. A must for a flower lover like me.
There were sunny yellows....
Pretty pinks.....

I could fill this space up with images of all the beautiful flowers that were on display....I will save more for another day. After browsing and taking many, many, many pictures, our stomachs told us it was time for lunch. We headed for another favorite place of mine, The Egglectic Cafe in Wheaton, serving only breakfast and lunch we needed to speed it to have time for a tasty lunch. New to the menu for the summer was their chicken with feta cheese, kalamata olives, lettuce & ceasar dressing in a spinach tortilla wrap....oh yum, a happy dance in my mouth. And to add to this goodness, they have the BEST onion petals served with ranch dressing that will ever grace your taste buds. I should have taken a picture, but we were both too hungry to even think about grabbing a camera. A great ending to a great day. PS all of these pictures were taken with the Tamron Lens....so if you are considering a new lens, consider this one. (this is not a paid announcement)
