Not much excitement in my world the last couple of days....which is sometimes a good thing because sometimes excitement depending on if the excitement is good or not so good can be mighty stressful. I don't want nor need stress. My blood-pressure welcomes the non-excitement times. But I must admit that I am beginning to get quite excited about my forthcoming trip to Arizona and California. So many new things to do, so many new people to meet, oops there goes that blood-pressure. Just read in the paper today that Palm Springs is supposed to be 87 degrees tomorrow. Whoot whoot, that sounds so much better than 105. Hopefully while I am there the 80's will be the norm.
Last Saturday my favorite son-in-law (I only have one, but he still would be my favorite if I did have more), Sam came with tools in hand to hang a shelf that I had purchased a while back at, you guessed it, Home Goods. My collection of tea cups and little momentous were scattered on bookshelves, table-tops etc and now with the hanging of the shelf I have them all together. Ta Da!! Well, not everything, but alot.
After it
stood hung proudly on the wall, I decided before placing my treasures in each little cubby-hole I would back each cubby with a piece of scrapbook paper, to give it a little more depth. I dug through my stash and was able to easily come up with enough paper to complete the task. I like the way it looks....
There are a total of 25 little cubbies, each measuring approximately 5x5, just shy of being able to include the saucers along with the cups. Oh well, I am happy with these and to have 25 cubbies large enough to hold saucers as well would be pretty darn BIG, too big to hang on any of my walls.
Picked up these little figurines in England and packed them carefully in my suitcase for the trip home. At the time we were there we had a dog, Casey (Cairn Terrier) that looked exactly like this. Don't know why I bought the cat, just liked it, I guess.
And finally, my entry for
Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday....the hydrangeas turn such a lovely red in the fall and I think they are especially lovely with Kim's "Oh My" texture with 2 layers. The 1st Soft Light 100% opacity, the 2nd layer at Linear Burn at 56% opacity.
Have you had any excitement in your life recently? If you have, I hope it was good excitement!!
