Come with me as I take you on a quick pictorial tour of some of the homes in the Montford area. It was cloudy and cold as I walked the neighborhoods, but it was obvious to me that the residents that lived here enjoyed their neighborhood...most all had comfortable furniture on their front porches and I passed many people walking their dogs. The dogs were as friendly as their owners.
I would love to know the people that live in this house....anybody that knits hats and scarves for their cement birds has got to be a hoot. It's difficult to see, but each fence post had a bird sitting atop it, each one wrapped in a hat & scarf.
I love how colorful the homes are... Each home either has a brick wall, fencing or a definite delineation along the front sidewalks.

These are just a few of the many, many homes in this neighborhood. I could have walked further but it was cold and a little windy and I wanted to feel the warmth of the car heater. The neighborhood is beautiful in the winter-time, I can only imagine how lovely it must be in the spring, summer and fall with all the trees, bushes and flowers that must be in bloom.

ReplyDeleteAsheville is a beautiful place and you captured the older section of the city beautifully. I had a aunt and uncle that lived in the old section for many years but I didn't see their house in your pictures....They are both gone now and I have wondered if that house is still be cared in the same manner....I have so many wonderful memories of our visits to Asheville and we still enjoy going occasionally but it's not the same without them...

ReplyDeleteLove seeing those amazing homes and would love to go back to Ashville to look around. My husband and I were there a few years ago and visited the Biltmore Estate which was lovely. Thought every since that i would love to go back again. I think there is also so really famous photography studio there. What a great time you must have had

I just had to Google Montford and, of course, don't you know there's a Music & Arts festival in May. How divine it would be to stay at the Bed of Roses B&B in the spring and take in an arts fest. Oh my!!!!
