But instead of that big party I had an itty bitty one with my daughter and grand-daughter....met them for breakfast and spent a wonderful 2 hours eating, drinking (coffee & juice) and visiting. Something we don't get to do too often....everyone leads such busy lives. Bailey headed off to work and Lisa and I headed off to do a little shopping (after all it was my birthday). After finding a great new pair of shoes we went to visit my sweetie. I told him it was my birthday and he tried, he really tried to say "Happy Birthday".
Said goodbye to my daughter and headed out to the country to see what I could find. The day was awful, rain, and mild temperatures causing all that snow to melt and creating a misty fog that was a must to capture with my camera. I did get a wee bit anxious as I drove down those country roads, the melting snow and over abundance of rain was causing flooding everywhere. The corn fields were large lakes, the roadside gutters were filled with rushing waters, causing this gal to think "what the heck am I doing out here?" So, after finding my way back to the main road, I hightailed it home.
Driving home, thank goodness there wasn't much traffic, I stopped and snapped a couple of pictures that were just mystical. Look at that fog...!!

Geneva
Such a wonderful, eclectic group of pictures. That is some crazy fog that you had. I'm very glad that you found your way safely back to the main roads. Yikes! And, you are incredibly beautiful! The picture of you with your granddaughter is so cute. I'm guessing you two could get in to a little trouble together, given the time! My mom and my daughter have a very close bond. I will never forget a phone call between them when my daughter Ashley was only two. She promised my mom chocolate and margaritas if she would just pleeeeaaaase drive to our house. It was adorable. You inspired me to buy some tulips yesterday. Unfortunately, none of my pictures turned out. The only picture that was "good" was of my cat Sophie, who never fails to photo bomb every photo set up I make. Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day. :)
ReplyDeleteO Deanna what a beautiful post! A very very Happy Belated Birthday to you! So nice you could spend it with your daughter and grand daughter!
ReplyDeleteSo delighted to read you had a sweet birthday with your gals and even a special moment with your sweetie. The picture with you is just darling. Your foggy pictures need to be printed - absolutely incredible. I think a Birthday bash would be a blast, imagine the laughter between camera clicks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pic of the two of you....love the sparkle in your eyes! You have me beat by 3 months! It's always gratifying to be the youngest!
ReplyDeleteYou're so adventuresome...but that's how you get the great pics!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! It looked the same way here yesterday and I just posted some similar shots on my regular blog - although not so pretty as yours. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you ventured out, even for a short drive. Wonderful shots. Happy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteWonderful that your daughter and granddaughter come to spend time with you....but WHAT WERE YOU THINKING going out in the FOG for pictures????? Don't you know that's when there are so many accidents???? oh, my goodness....if you were my mom, I'd take your keys away everytime there was fog! lol Aren't you glad your daughter is your daughter instead of me???? LOVE the fog shot, though. lol It WAS worth it since you got HOME SAFELY!!! Goodness, gracious, we are all looney in the head to be driving around in all kinds of conditions, slamming on our brakes without so much as a look in the rear view mirror, and getting out on busy highways just to shoot pictures of barns, fences, skies and critter! But, isn't it FUN???!!!
ReplyDeleteAgain, sweet, wonderful lady, hope your every wish comes true. Glad your hubby tried to tell you happy birthday.
Love your fog shots, especially the silos just barely visible through the fog. Beautiful tulips too--such a lovely birthday gift. The size of your party sounds just perfect to me! Small and intimate with those we love most are always the best. Happy belated birthday!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! I love the fog, it sure makes for some interesting photos. Happy belated Birthday to you! I'll be 67 on Thursday and I'm thinking we are close in age. We have similar hair styles and color, but where are your wrinkles? LOL! I seem to see more and more of them everyday. Great photo of you and your granddaughter, you're both so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm signing up to follow you, love your blog!
