I love this quote....and I definitely think this is exactly what happened to me after I really dug deep into photography. You just really see everything differently. Personally I have always been a very visual person, whereas my sweetie could not see the rosebush in front of his face. But photography has definitely been a re-awakening of the little things, the commonplace things in my life. I appreciate the simple everyday images that encompass my world.
The simplicity of fresh blueberries purchased at the farmer's market...
Along with the beautiful veggies, purple onions and peppers..
And the additional lucious looking raspberries...
The beauty that I find in my garden....
Bringing that beauty inside....
Discovering that my new favorite annual is the Dragon Wing Begonia....I swear this baby will grow just about anywhere....sun, shade, and no maintenance. You can't ask for better than that.
Having a ground cover that has these beautiful pink leaves makes me very happy.
And seeing the garden in the morning sunlight is always a bonus...
Even the spent flowers have a beauty in the morning sunlight.
And now joining Kathy's Sunday Song ography with the theme being Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" I found this old tractor that in it's day was probably born to run all over these midwest farms.
Hope your Sunday is filled with joy and your week brings all good things your way.

Until next time....
i love the 3rd from the bottom shot. just gorgeous, happy light!
ReplyDeleteI agree photography makes you see things you might not have looked at twice. You also see things you would never have seen before.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice for Song-ography!
Those farmer's market goodies look amazing! Gorgeous pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt is a joy to view your photo's. I agree about seeing things differently now that I've started photographing things. It's just amazing and fun. Your flower shots are so lovely. That tractor shot was really cool and such a different take for Born to Run, but I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteGotta love a mid-west slant on "Born to Run". Very, very creative, I always love a different viewpoint on things. And that is something photography has certainly helped me with too. Looking at things differently AND looking at what is right before my eyes too. It's a beautiful thing :). Thanks for linking up to Song-ography this week Deanna.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous! I like the graphic design of the quote--very nice! That first blueberry shot is my favorite.

The more photos I take, the more things I notice that I used to walk right by. If nothing else, photography has given me a greater respect for nature.
ReplyDeleteLoving the little details -- it really is all around if we just notice. xo
ReplyDeleteI love your cozy corner shot. It is true what you say, my camera has taken me through some tough times, acutely immersed in everything around me, with my eye to my lens, helped me forget the day to days downs, I feel I owe my camera thanks. Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI used to paint. Not just walls, but on canvas. My art teacher liked to tell the class that 'Artists see more better'.
ReplyDeletePhotographers are artists. They see more, better. I find myself seeing things that others haven't noticed.
Your garden looks like it's doing quite well. And, of course, your photos are wonderful, as usual.
Great old tractor! I can imagine how he was "running wild"in his youth.Your garden looks close to perfection and the little corner with the comfy chair is very inviting!
ReplyDeleteI recognize that tractor! Yup ... the older I get, the more I savor simplicity. Lovely photos, all evocative of 'simplicity' and beauty as well.
ReplyDelete... sigh... gorgeous images...
ReplyDeleteI think photography has taught me a lot about seeing things and appreciating their simplicity. Your photos are simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote and photo for it, Deanna. I too am a visual person although I didn't realize it for so many years! Photography has certainly helped me to learn to see so much more than I did before. I so appreciate your beautiful photos and blog--they lift me up every time! Kicking myself that I didn't take any photos at the farmer's market yesterday morning:( Next time for sure I will get my camera out!

DeletePS...what is the ground cover with the pink leaves? I need some of that:)
DeleteEach photo a treat for the eyes, Deanna. How are you liking Lightroom? I'm thinking of getting it. I have a friend who is a great photographer, and he wants me to try it - says he'll help me get started.
ReplyDeleteThese are such wonderful photos Deanna. I think you were born to be a photographer to let others see the beauty through your eyes.
ReplyDeleteLove these shots Deanna-you do have some postcard spots in your garden.
ReplyDeleteThat tractor doesn't look like it is going to run anywhere too fast. I love your photography!
ReplyDeletehi Deanna...love the tour of your beautiful gardens. I know exactly what you mean about seeing the beauty in all the little things. I think that photography has made me slow down and appreciate every little thing. Where ever did you find that old tractor? It is a beauty!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeletethis is so the truth deanna. learning to see things differently. love that shot of your chair in the window...i can personally vouch for the fact that it is every bit that beautiful in real life. xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos capturing the bits of life that are so easy to ignore. I have found that photography helps me notice things that I ordinarily wouldn't have. I tend to be visual, too--When someone is verbally telling me a name or phone number, for example, I have to "visualize" it to take it in. Maybe that's why I love taking photos. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely images, Deanna! Thank You for sharing these wonderful and thought provoking quotes. I like the way you see the world and I am so glad you love sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love your photography, Deanna, and your images are all beautiful. My favorite in this series would be the inside shot with the
ReplyDeletegreen bottles in the window.
I love that shot by the window of the teapot and cups with the vases and flowers. Stunning.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing through your eyes and could sit and take it all in by the window with the flowers and teapot. Photography does have a way of making you perhaps not see more, but see things differently.
ReplyDeleteI agree....you do see things in a different perspective when looking at the world through a camera lens. I love your camera lens. I want your camera....or is it your eye I want? Your pictures should be hung in a hall of fame somewhere! Lordy, they are beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI also enjoy what photography brings to my eye also each time when I see what is in those little flowers always amazes me with surprise. It is a joy of Gods wonder. The clarity in the top blueberry is just so wow truly beautiful Deanna.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful these are! Love the birdy photo and the blueberries. I agree, photography really does make you see things in a different way. I've always been very visual too, but now it seems like I'm always looking at the light...it's colors...the way it's filtered through the trees. I comment on it all the time and my family is like, "Yeah, whatever." :)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful these are, Deanna, esp. that tiny bird with the wonderful quote! :)
ReplyDeleteThe outside images are lovely BUT your living room steals the show...girlfriend...have you thought of sending pictures into a few magazines? GORGEOUS♥
ReplyDeleteDeanna... Hellooooo Horned Frog!!! Your photography is breathtaking... Did you take classes? I would really love to take great photographs.
ReplyDeleteI certainly agree with you about photography causing one to notice new things or even seeing things in a new way....Even though I am very much a novice, I am seeing little things I never noticed before...These shots are beautiful and I especially love the one in front of the window....I feel like I could just sit there forever with a cup of tea....Wonderful post friend...
ReplyDeleteCameras really do awaken the photographer's eyes!Lovely photos here, Deanna!
