Oh Me Oh My....

You know what today is....!!!  Unfortunately it is raining in Chicago-land and is predicted to rain for most of the day, so not really sure how many little ghosts & goblins are going to be out this evening.  Which again puts me in a state of uncertainty as to the amount of candy (treats) to buy.  Do I buy like I usually do and when the numbers of Trick or Treaters are slight enjoy the bounty myself?? (which you know what that does to the hips and with hip-adding season just right around the corner, I am definitely in a quandary).  Or do I just forget this year, turn the lights off, keep the gates closed, save my hips but maybe disappoint the few that might come?  Oh me, oh my, I hope this is the only serious decision I have to make today.

  1. I so hear you, Deanna! I'm always nervous on Halloween for that very same reason! :)

  2. Sounds like a good year to lay low. Save money and your waistline. :)

  3. That is an adorable decoration. I say buy some candy. We had a rainy one a few years ago, and everybody still went out with umbrellas. It was sloppy, but the party continued.

  6. What a darling decoration. - I say buy the candy. Geez I bought way more then I should have and wouldn't you know it today the weather is not so great. So looks like the old hips may be suffering a little longer!

  7. That figure is so cute! Love the details.

We never know how much to buy either, but we do buy what we like so we will enjoy the leftovers. :-)

  8. We got candy the first year we lived in our house, and only had 2 trick or treaters. There is a big subdivision behind us and that is where they go. We keep the lights off, and this year we won't be home anyway.

  9. Yeah, the annual quandary: how much candy to buy. There is no right answer. Happy Halloween ... I know you'll enjoy it regardless. :-D

  10. Well, you know I didn't buy any and am still holding out hope that through the 5 inches of rain we have had since 6 am. that this will subside in time for "Football" tonight, otherwise...you know, plan "B" is the dollar movies! :) I say shut off the lights and go have a treat somewhere!

  11. What a cute halloween angel...is that possible? We're at the beach so I doubt we have any trick or treaters..think we'll just stay on the back porch and they won't know we're here...If I buy candy, no one shows up and then I am left to eat it...Of course I can't throw it out.....

  12. We actually had Halloween in our town last night due to the fact that we were in for some extremely bad weather today. As with the past 5 years I have lived here, there were no visits to our humble abode. This being the case, we simply don't buy Halloween candy. Though I can certainly understand your quandary

  13. So sorry that the weather isn't cooperating in your neighbor. It's so nice here and I expect a ton of trick or treaters momentarily. I hope they get all the candy.... I am like you, I don't need it. But, I sure could use a tootsie roll or two just for kicks.

  15. Oh, I say go for it! You can never have too much candy, I say! (Just put it in the freezer and then you won't be so tempted) Love your Halloween figurine - so cute. Happy Halloween! xoxo

  16. Well - I sure hope you bought at least a couple bags of YOUR favorite, Deanna! We never get Trick or Treaters in Breckenridge. Plus, it snowed overnight, is gusting now, and more snow is in the forecast. Kids would freeze going door-to-door. I think the school and Rec center do something inside. My Grands, who live closer to Denver, will surely be out in their neighborhood. Jack is a chocoholic, so this is one of his favorite nights!

  17. the little angel witch is too cute. it's been raining all day here and suddenly cleared up -- everyone who hadn't bought candy thinking the rain was going to keep the kids away, are all out buying candy! I used to take leftover candy to work, but now that i'm retired -- onto the hips it goes! Happy Halloween!

  18. I love your cute little witch- so sweet! I'm afraid I might would shut the lights out and skip if the weather is going to be bad. It cleared off here this afternoon and is a perfect spook night. My grands were very happy!

  19. What an adorable Halloween figure. We don't get any kids on the farm -- by afternoon, I generally forget it's Halloween. Sad.

  20. Your witch is adorable. I used to love to give out candy.. I would dress up as a witch and sit on our porch and give out candy... I sure miss that.

    Hugs~
