Holy Moly It's Snowing.....

Holy moly it's snowing and has been since yesterday morning.  Last year I complained bitched about the lack of snow...wow this year it is definitely a snowy winter wonderland.  I am waiting for it to stop, so I can scurry over to the Arboretum to grab some images of this delight before the bottom drops out of our temps,  Predictions are grim for any outdoor activities with temps in the below zero range, even daytime temps will not reach above the 0 mark.  I know you people up north are probably used to that but this midwestern girl, raised in Texas still shivers at just the thought.

Yesterday was a pretty low-key day with naps on the agenda enjoyed by all.  And between naps I am reading a really good book, "The Husband's Secret" by Liane Moriaty.  I am anticipating this might be one of the better books I have read in awhile. Love her writing style.

Then last night I ventured out the front door to shovel off the walk so little Cinder had a place to walk and do....you know.  Snow is not her favorite thing....  I looked up and saw Toby standing on his chair watching my every move wondering why he wasn't out with me.  And yes, I have my tree and holiday decorations still up.  Maybe this weekend they will come down.  It just took me so dang long to put them up, I need to enjoy them just a little longer....enjoy - ha who am I kidding, the truth is I definitely am not looking forward to the work of putting them all away.

This old chair is sitting on the front porch....

This morning it was still snowing,...Toby bounded out.

While Cinder said..."no thank you, I will stick to my cozy warm couch."

Oh whee...I love all this white, it looks magical!! But then I am the one that gets to sit inside drinking a 2nd cup of coffee enjoying the sites from my window while those that are still in the workworld are probably grumbling and not enjoying this one bit. It's all from one's perspective.

I hope you are enjoying your day...stay safe stay warm.

  2. I'm more like Cinder, but I appreciate Toby's enthusiasm. I have an errand this afternoon, but I'm going to buy cookie baking supplies -- no flour or sugar -- and enjoy a cozy day tomorrow. Put my snowmen away this morning and figuring out what to do to spruce up my mantel. Keep cozy!

  6. Oh I love that quote! I love Tody in the window. You take so many wonderful beautiful pictures. We are supposed to have some rough weather tonight I hope it isn't as bad as they are saying.

  7. We are due to get the snow too! Lovely captures!

  8. I love the Toby in the window shot! He's a beauty, and you captured him so well. I understand Cinder's reluctance to move from the warmth--I am like that every morning. :-) Enjoy the snow and stay warm and safe. I wish we would get some here, but I think our part of the state will just get flurries, if that.

  9. How much is the puppy in the window! We're getting the snow today and tomorrow!

  10. This is beautiful and it certainly looks like more than a dusting. We got a lengthy snow shower ... it started when I left to run my errands, continued the whole time I was out, and then stopped when I got home. Hmmph. Wishing you much happiness, love and good health this year, my friend! xo

  11. Looking at Cinder makes me want to go out and get a dog. Heaven help me! The wreath photo is so beautiful - should really be on a Christmas card.

  12. I wish I could sit there next to you so we could admire it together, but I'll have to settle with the gorgeous photos instead! :-)

  13. Toby looking out the window is simply adorable! As soon as I finish blog rounds, I will undertake the task of taking down the decorations. Not looking forward to that.

  15. Wonderful photos! I really love the one of Toby looking out the window. It's snowing here now, too, and is supposed to continue through tomorrow. We've got no place to go...so let it snow.

  16. I'm so jealous! I could just use a winter wonderland. it is windy, rainy, and chilly in GA today, but we just cant muster snow. I love the image with Toby looking out the window. So adorable. My deco is still up, and I just haven't been in a rush to take it down. I suspect I will hit low tolerance by the end of the weekend. We'll see. :)

  17. The snow looks lovely...from a distance.
That is a great photo of Toby at the window. He is such a cutie. So is Cinder.
Stay warm. Sounds like it's really going to be winter there.

  19. Yep, that is a lot of snow! Fun for photos, but in my book, that's probably about it ;) And I love, love that photo looking into the window at Toby-magical!

  20. You really did capture the beauty of the snowy landscape. Toby and Cinder make wonderful models, too! All that snow is headed my way - I'm pretty psyched, it should make for some mighty fine skiing!

  21. Beautiful. The window shot of Toby is just wonderful. You couldn't have planned it better. Your pups are the cutest things. And you're right about the working folks having a hard time when it snows. I dreaded it with all my being when I worked. Now that I don't have to get to work . . . let it snow! Hopefully, we will get a good one this year. Snow, not ice. I don't do ice.

  22. Okay, somehow when I saw this on Bloglovin {which has not been user friendly lately} I didn't get the whole post. So I'm back again. I must say I thought it was unusual that you posted only one photo and one quote. That didn't quite sound like my Deanna! Your snow is beautiful but holy moley, lady, those are some cold temps heading your way! We're supposed to get some tomorrow then more and worse first of the week. It is snowing but I doubt I'll see anything like what you have. Love that Toby loves the snow and Cinder doesn't. Hee-hee.

  23. Love Toby in the window. I have one that loves to be outside and one that would be happy to sleep on my daughter's bed all day. The single digit temps are getting old. I love to be outside and it is getting a little challenging.

  24. Your photos are wonderful, Deanna - you have captured the beauty of this season so wonderfully. The photo of Toby in the window is just precious. I don't blame Cinder for wanting to stay cozy on her chair, it sounds positively bone-chilling. I just took down my tree today - why is it so fun to decorate and so awful to take it all down? You have to be in the right mood, I think. Enjoy your beautiful, cozy home while you look out at your winter wonderland! xo Karen

  25. Great photos of your snow and your furry friends, Deanna. We got over a foot of snow in about 24 hours. Cold, too - but we're used to it.

  26. Your views of the snow are so much prettier than mine. Couldn't even see out my windows this morning. I love the view looking in the window at your tree and Toby looking out!

  27. These are beautiful Deanna, love the one of Toby in the window so much. I am so much like your little one not wanting to go out in that pretty white stuff.

  28. What a fabulous series! Love love love Toby in the window! :)

  29. I agree Deanna that you should soak up every moment of what you enjoy out of the simple things in life; it's mostly free! That you thought to get to the arboretum for photos is just what I would want to do. Whether I'd brace up to the cold o.k. is quite another thing! Yesterday was 39 degrees celcius, so it's quite a different world. Would you like to take photos in an oven, or a freezer? Every one of your photos is a delight; keep on snapping and blogging....

  30. No snow here today - but it is chilly and very windy!

  31. So glad you are getting snow this year. I remember you wishing for it last winter. As usual, your photos are stunning, but oh my goodness! The one with Toby looking out at you! Now that should be in print somewhere! Absolutely stunning! Stay warm!

  39. The snow looks so soft and fluffy. I think though I'm with Cinder about staying inside. We once had a cat that like to play out in the snow like Toby. (Crazy cat!)
