Yes, I am still here. Somewhere over this past winter I seem to have lost my blogging MOJO, and I wish I could say that it's back in full force, but it ain't. Even with trips to Phoenix and Charleston (the "workshop" was a great disappointment compared to the wonderful workshop I attended in the Fall in the Smokey Mountains) somehow didn't seem to bring me back up to snuff. Both were delightful trips and eventho the "workshop" wasn't up to my expectations, I did enjoy my time in Charleston. Maybe a swift kick in the pants is what I need. I can't even blame it on the weather now. We have had several days in a row of sunshine and warmth with the grass turning greener and a few trees beginning to grow little nubs of buds. A couple of days ago I walked to my neighbor's house that always has the first signs of Spring popping up in her front yard and compared to former years, the signs were sparse.... I think ole Man Winter really did a number on not only our plant life but on our souls as well.
And with only nubs on the trees I decided a trip to my local garden center might be in order to bring some color and new growth into my winter-worn eyes. Ofcourse I went right at noon-time when the sun is shining its's brightest, the absolute worst time of the day to take flower shots (told you I lost my MOJO) but I did enjoy the walk and I did capture a few shots. Then I came home and sat outside in that glorious sunshine, drinking it in and savoring those sweet moments of warming bliss.
So if any of you out there has seen my MOJO walking around appearing lost, could you please return.
And it has been confirmed....my grandson and wife are having a baby girl...bring on the pink!!

Until next time......
based on these flower shots, i think your photography mojo is just fine - even if your blogging mojo isn't! :)
ReplyDeleteYou always have MOJO Deanna. Even the meager flowers are still pretty! Glad you have a great neighbor too!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen your mojo. Anywhere. Clearly. ;-) But I am now inspired to hit the garden center, so thank you!
ReplyDeleteI haven't spotted yours, but if you spot mine, send it home please!
ReplyDeleteYour mojo, is here at my house come on over, it is waiting for you. :) Beautiful images Deanna. So good to talk to you. :)
ReplyDeleteYour visit to the garden-centre sounds like a nice escape. What is the last flower? I thought maybe Hellebore but I'm not sure the buds look like those. I'm not all so familiar with them since it's not 'cold-climate' planting here. Congrats to the new parents to be ....
ReplyDeleteFirst of all ... Congratulations on the soon-to-come {I know ... not soon enough!} brand new baby girl for you and your family to love! That is so wonderful. As for the mojo ... your photography mojo is just fine. As for the blogging mojo ... sometimes I think we just run out of words {although I never thought I'd say that about you!} and ideas. Periods of drought seem to precede periods of great creativity ... so hang in there. You'll be back in gear in no time. {Glad to see you here. I told Pam last night you'd gone quiet again. I don't like that ...}
ReplyDeleteWell, those flower shots are gorgeous!
ReplyDelete"I think ole Man Winter really did a number on not only our plant life but on our souls as well." - have to agree with you here. We'll have to bask in that newly-arrived warmth and sunshine to recuperate.
May be our mojos are hanging out together on a sunny beach somewhere. I'll promise to send yours home if you'll promise to send mine. :-) Congratulations on the news of a new baby girl in the family - that's something to get very excited about! Your flower photos are beautiful even if the light wasn't what you wanted it to be. Hang in there, I have faith our mojos will return.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find your mojo, Miss Deaana! In the mean time, you have some pretty pictures to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOoh a baby! I'm so excited for you!! Your flowers are lovely and I hope you find your missing mojo...I'll bet it's out in the flower garden!
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Deanna.
ReplyDeleteIt happens to everyone, and it will return when you least expect it.
Sorry to hear that you feel you have lost your mojo ... but your flower images speak otherwise... 5,6, and 7 are beyond stunning! Just keep showing up at the blog, Deanna and you will find what you're looking for! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, you haven't lost your mojo for taking photos that's for sure...but I think, no I know, that when you take a break it's harder and harder to get back to it. Sometimes you just have to jump back in and get your feet wet again. It might must be what you need to perk yourself back up. It's good to see you here, I've been thinking about you and missing your presence.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are stunning! I hear you with the mojo - I lost my desire to get out and about in the throws of the freezing winter. Now that spring is here i am hoping to be out and about more! Have a lovely rest of your weekend!!
ReplyDeleteNo, your Mojo hasn't travelled to Holland. Looking at your beautiful images, I think it's still there with you.
ReplyDeleteCongrats of that baby girl coming! Pink, yes! I loved the flower pictures and the quote today. Nice going.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you are expecting a great granddaughter! I'll bet you're over the moon! Have been missing you here (and, of course, worrying about you) and was so happy to see this post. Beautiful shots as always! Sorry to hear your workshop was a disappointment but you sure made the most of it by the looks of the things you captured. After the winter you've had, it may take awhile for your mojo to return, but I know it will. Can't keep a good girl down for long!
ReplyDeleteWell the flower shots are gorgeous and maybe that is all the MOJO you need right now.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Deanna! I hope you find what you're looking for…my mojo has left me too.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting on my mojo. I keep buying flowers and never shooting them. But your florals are beautiful. Take a big round light diffuser (and maybe someone to hold it). We did that in a class and it worked great. Only I lost it a few years ago when shooting my granddaughter in her formal in the bright light!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - a great granddaughter to hug and teach! I'm liking your photos of flowers, even if they aren't growing in your yard yet.
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful, crisp shots. Perhaps your MOJO skipped town with mine. The least they could have done was tell us they were bailing and leave a hint as to when they might return.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long winter....hopefully with spring, your mojo will return. Gorgeous shots of flowers, despite the sun - that last one is quite stunning. Sorry about the workshop, but at least you got to see Charleston. Maybe you don't need any more photo lessons and should start giving them yourself! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the news of your great granddaughter! How exciting to anticipate her arrival! Blessings to you all! xo
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Who needs MOJO when you have great-grandchildren! You photos are so amazing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I too have lost my MOJO both with blogging and photography. Just not pleased with what I am shooting.
ReplyDeleteThere is a season for everything, even down times when we loose our mojo. I trust it will return in one way or another. Sending you love and hugs !
