Spring continues it's slow path, but each day brings new growth. It has remained rather cool, but sometimes cool is good in the Spring, it allows the Spring flowers to stick around longer. The daffodils are still blooming, the forsythia still cover their bushes in bright yellow flowers, the tulips are just beginning to bloom, all because we have not had a heat wave that tends to rush these early Spring-time flowers into dormancy. Spring comes and goes so swiftly that to enjoy these springtime delights longer makes my heart sing.
It rained yesterday, really rained
And today my quince began to open....yea!!!
PS...If you are looking for a good book to read, "Me Before You" by Jo Jo Moyes is just the ticket!!
Until next time....
love the focus in that first shot! my favorite today!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, close up shots of the lovely new spring growth.
ReplyDeleteThe first two shots are exquisite! Love them all though. Sorry about the rain, but you know what they say: April showers bring May flowers.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so delighted for you that you're enjoying a lingering spring! And I'm delighted for us because we get to see your pictures!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous focus and dof! Happy spring to you! We are heading home into snow flurries by the weekend... :(
ReplyDeleteHave been wondering where you are! Glad spring has sprung. It's good that it's lingering. Ours here is so fast that I've missed a lot of shots. But that's ok, because yours are always so lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt's cool here too (okay, kinda cold, actually), but I think the flowers just know that it's time to bloom, and they are trying their best.
ReplyDeleteI am guessing we are about 3+ weeks behind where we "should" be for this time of year, but at least there is a little color here and there.
These are beautiful photographs, Deanna.
Yummy photos . . .
ReplyDeleteExcellent book!
Our Spring Snow took a toll on some of the flowers in my yard, but fortunately there are many to and from town that brighten the trip. After the winter we all had, an extended Spring is a nice pick-me-up.
ReplyDeleteMe Before You....one excellent book. Great recommendation. Spring has sprung. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteWe are slowly turning green here. THe blooms finally emerging and the grass just a bit greener. The rain is helping in the green department!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots, my friend!
We've had a short Spring here since we had strange cold weather...we were very much in summer last week, but today feels so nice and crisp...at least for this morning! My in-laws left Monday and I think I may have to go to the nursery to begin to heal my soul. :( P.S. - I will be coming to Chicago this month for about a week with my daughter to visit my mom!
ReplyDeleteDeanna,
ReplyDeleteThank You, thank you for sharing your beautiful spring blooms!
The wind finally went down last night. It's a sunny, breezy 33* this morning.
I have Me Before You on my Amazon wish list. I have read several of the books you have recommended and like them. If you need some reading ideas let me know.
Your spring shots Looks so beautiful. The trees here in Colorado are just beginning to bloom as well. So different than Vegas. Where they already have the Air Conditioners on.
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Your shots are beautiful. Love the quince. Nothing blooming here yet. It has been cold and rainy all week.
ReplyDeleteHappy May day!
The rain has given you the opportunity to take these beautiful photos and for us to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are just exquisite! It would be hard to choose a favorite from this series. Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll add this one to my list!
ReplyDeleteHappy May Day to you!
