This sweet little Norfolk Pine sits inside my 12-12-12 cup of the day. The date today is rather significant in that this (string of same numbers) will never happen again in our lifetime. Makes me want to make this day rather significant, but if we stop and think about it, everyday in our lives is significant in some way. Whether it is smiling at a stranger or discovering a cure for Alzheimer's (my greatest wish) each day in our lives is significant. I dropped $2.00 in the Salvation Army bucket on my way out of Trader Joe's today...now that may seem a rather insignificant amount, but if everyone that entered Trader Joe's today dropped $2.00 in the Salvation Army bucket think of the huge consequential difference that $2.00 would bring to those in need.
Did you know that today is "Poinsettia Day". Joel Roberts Poinsett, the man who introduced the lovely flower to the US while a diplomat to Mexico, died today in 1851. Poinsettia's are one of my favorite flowers to display in my home during the holidays, so I thank you Mr. Poinsett for bringing us this beautiful flower to enjoy during the holidays.
And because it is definitely that time of the year for sharing...I thought I would share the link to this lovely Christmas Subway Art. I did something similar at Thanksgiving and loved the way in turned out so thought I would try it again for Christmas. Here is the link Just put it in a pretty frame and you have a lovely piece of Christmas Art. I have this on my entry way table to greet my guests. And speaking of entryway...here are a few images from the entryway so stop by sometime and have a cup of coffee with me. You know I have plenty of cups!!!
"Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart." ~ Washington Irving
Until next time....
