This Doesn't Surprise Me

This doesn't surprise me.....

With the amount of rain that we have received along with predictions for more, it doesn't surprise me that we have mushrooms growing in parts of the yard.

Nor does this surprise me....

Baby robins in the nest.  It is that time of the year.  Mom has been away from the nest all day, one of her babies fell out of the nest a little premature and she has been following that little explorer as he hops here & yon.  Too young to fly yet.  I am not sure what happens now.

Nor does this surprise me....

Healthy looking plants potted up for summertime enjoyment....

And I am certainly not surprised by this....

Dirty feet after spending a day planting and mowing....(note to self, need a pedicure desperately)

Nor does this surprise me...

Thunder and lightening in those dark clouds heading our way.

And now, it's raining again, which doesn't surprise me either.  At least I got the yard mowed and most of the flowers planted before the drops descended.  No worries that the new plants will need water, Mother Nature provided it (again!).

  7. We had so much rain earlier in Spring - or a segment of time that according to the calendar is Spring, I am shocked we didn't have mushroom everywhere. You are a braver soul than I to post a picture of the feet.

  8. It sounds like the rain is widespread, we've had plenty of it here too! That poor little biddy...did you try putting it back in the nest? We had a mother bird that kept throwing one of the babies out of the nest. I'd feed it and put it back in. Eventually she quit doing that and started feeding it herself.

  10. Deanna,
You keep coming up with fun stuff to write about! This doesn't surprise me ... great idea. I like the contrast between the pink blooms and the mushrooms. The picure of your feet made me laugh out loud.

We got another .85" last night and today. It took me all of Wednesday morning and the early afternoon to rake the sticks and twigs from the hail storm last weekend. We have a big yard and I was glad to see the Hubby show up to pick up the piles I raked together.

  13. Now then, do you garden in your bare feet?...I do (apart from when there is some digging to be done)! It drives my hubby mad, but there is nothing like feeling the dirt and grass between your toes! Am I the only one? I love the shot of the mushroom, an award winner! Take care. Chel x

  16. I am glad to hear you are getting the right amount of rain! It seems like there are wayward robin chicks everywhere I go these days. Can I come with you and we can get pedicures together? Please.

  19. Hi Deanna, You always make me smile with your wonderful posts and sense of humor. What a cheery orange shade of polish. I bet that wet earth felt good. Hope the little baby robin survives and I loved the shot of the clouds and trees.
