More to Come....

Boy, you talk about a bird-brain, not the beautiful robin pictured above, but me....arghhh!! Yesterday's weather was stunning, the warmest in over 10 years for an Easter Sunday which I am sure was God's way of saying, "Thanks for sticking thru that "god" awful winter I dumped at you, now I am treating you to the best Easter weather ever."  And it was glorious.  I will even have to admit getting a little too warm sitting out on my daughter's patio yesterday afternoon, can you believe that came out of my mouth..."too warm???"  ahh we humans, so fickle.

Anywhoo, I knew that the Arboretum would be absolutely packed all weekend, so decided that due to the wonderfully warm weather, there must be tons of blossoms and buds bursting everywhere and today would be the perfect day to go with camera in hand.  Only (this is where bird-brain enters) I forgot to change the battery in my camera. Only after I pulled into the parking lot and taking a couple of shots, that I realized the battery was low.  After saying a few choice words under my breath.....I headed back home to change the battery.  Thank goodness I only live 4.85 miles from the arboretum. When I arrived back home and put in the 2nd battery, it too was low on power.  Arghhh....so while I am waiting for one of the two (that's why I have two, so I have a back-up....I did mention bird brain didn't I??) batteries to charge thought I would post the only 2 pics I came away with.  And this is only the parking lot....can you imagine what lies ahead?  Stay tuned....more blossoms to come.

Until next time.....

  2. I can so identify with this. A couple of weeks ago I went on an adventure, was about an hour from home, getting ready to take my first photo. I wade through the extra coats, hat, mittens, boots. Only to find NO camera. It was at home still sitting in the dining room. Arghhhh! Thank goodness for my iPhone, but still not the same.

  5. Well you made great use of the little battery that you had and that is the best robin ever. WOW, you are only 4 miles away from that arboretum. What a lucky lady you are. That is very frustrating when something like that happens, and usually it is only a one time thing..... Next time you know better. LOL

  8. know how you would've felt Deanna ... well maybe some lovely sunny days coming up for gardening too? http://snaphappyonline.blogspot.com.au/ is where I posted my summing up in the garden recently. Right now we are both experiencing similar weather, since here is Autumn, and you Spring. Loved your beautiful Robin photograph, and look forward to your arboretum re-visit. Fabulous to have that so near...

  9. So glad you are having warm weather, finally! Going to the arboretum sounds like a perfect way to spend a beautiful afternoon. Too bad about the camera - doesn't it seem that always happens when you have the prettiest shots? Ah, that's life - I hope you enjoyed the day regardless. The two photos you took perfectly sum up a lovely spring day! xo Karen

  14. Oh, I can relate! I usually leave home without the memory card that is sitting in my card reader at home next to my computer! I finally decided to keep a back-up memory card in the glove box in my car so I at least will be able to shoot. So happy you are having some beautiful spring weather and I can't wait to see what else you captured at the Arboretum!

  15. Ooh, can't wait to see! I have seen one yard with a few crocuses here, and a few budding trees. That is IT, but it is coming soon and I'm excited! Don't feel bad--I left home on Easter with NO battery in my camera. It was in the charger where I put it the night before. I have no spare.

  16. Beautiful robin and forsythia! Well, we're only about ten degrees away from me complaining about the heat. But I can be forgiven because I never complain about the cold. I have gotten to be religious about the battery thing having been bitten more than once. Looking forward to your flowers!
