Barn Charm for Oct. 8, 2012

Wasn't going to join Barn Charm this week because I have already posted once today, but I do have quite a collection of barn photos in my many travels to the country.  And I will probably be missing for about 3 weeks due to my trip to Arizona & California....so here goes.  These were all taken a week ago Sunday, it was a stunningly beautiful day, the leaves were changing, an absolutely perfect day for a drive to the country.

A lovely red barn almost right next to the road that was "For Sale".  Sad to see so many farmers packing up and moving out....

Another view of the field that was so beautiful with the colors and light.  Just a lovely pastoral scene.

I copied this idea (the added text) right from this web site....was not my idea, but I liked it so I incorporated it into the image.

Hope you had a wonderful Columbus Day...the day we Americans commemorate the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus in 1492, or there about.

Linking to Trish's Barn Charm....

"Following the light of the sun, we left the Old World."  ~  Christopher Columbus

Until next time....

  16. Too, too bad about the barn.. yes, small time farmers are having a difficult time staying afloat.

I enjoyed your pasture scenes. Reminds me of our home in Alabama so much.

  18. It is always sad to see barns abandoned and to appreciate the difficult decision a farmer had to arrive at in order to pack up and move on. Lovely barn shots and quote.
