Time to Celebrate ~ Time to Pray

No matter where you are in these United States, celebrating Spring is clearly a color-filled event.  From the sweet yellow crocus and the tiny violets here in the midwest, to the bright oranges in the west, Spring is defintely a time to celebrate.

But while we are celebrating the joys of Spring, let us all stop, think and pray for those affected by the tragedy that occurred in Boston yesterday.  Why does mankind continue to kill innocent people?  I am bewildered and saddened by these outbursts of violence that are becoming too commonplace in our society. Living in the Chicago area, I am astonished that almost daily there is gunfire in certain parts of our city and innocent lives are lost.  I am sad, I am angry, I am at a loss as to how to stop this from escalating any further. Dear God.....HELP!!

Until next time.....

  1. Lovely post and I agree with you about the awful events of Boston. My colleague's daughter flew over for the marathon and crossed the finish line 30 minutes before the bomb blast. How can people be so evil?! Take care. Chel x

  2. I think the only answer is to be the best person I can be. Good is more powerful than evil. At least, I think so...

  4. Lovely photos.

I don't think I'll ever understand the evil of some people. What kind of devils do they have inside? It makes no sense.
I guess prayers for those lost and wounded, are all I have to give. I certainly have no answers.

  5. If I live to be 150, I will never understand such senseless violence. I used to wonder what the words in The Lord's Prayer meant: Deliver us from evil. After 9/11, I knew. Thank you for giving us beauty in the midst of such unspeakable pain.

  6. Sometimes I'm not sure why I'm shocked or why I ask myself how someone can do this...because since nearly the beginning of time man has acted in sin, and will do so until the end of time. It's so easy for me to become so angered by the actions of people like yesterday, but yet there were so many actions by people, strangers, that I will choose to praise instead of letting those who committed this act get any satisfaction. Love your photos as always!! xo

  10. Beautiful photos Deanna! I am from the Boston area originally! Many of my relatives were in Boston yesterday and my heart stopped for a moment when I first heard! They are all OK but my heart and soul goes out to all of the families who are suffering today! Too horrible for words!

  13. There's so much gang violence in Omaha (about 35 miles from here) that we almost become numb to the weekly shooting deaths. So very sad for the families.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers, Deanna.

  14. Your spring blooms remind us that beauty is still in the world. We all need to pray for our country and the world. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is a good passage.
