It's Friday....

Friday Stuff....A Little About Me and My Workings...

I love animals....especially dogs.  I even stop on the street and ask owners if I can take pictures of their sweet puppies.  Perhaps that is the reason I brought home my sweet Cinder. Toby and Cinder are still in the "what is she still doing here??" stage.  I am hoping that eventually they will become buddies, there are no fights, just no cuddles.

I am a very impatient driver and this is probably caused by the fact I never seem to leave the house on time for wherever or whatever I am doing.  Like today, for instance...my granddaughter, Bailey, texted me (young people have lost the ability to dial a phone number I am totally convinced of that) to meet her for lunch today.  I love the fact we do that, usually at least once a week.  But because I left later than I should have, I managed to hit every red light, get into every traffic tie-up possible.  I was pounding my fist on the steering wheel, obscenities were streaming from my mouth, every driver was an idiot, definitely not lady-like.  All because I didn't leave the house on time. I can fritter away time like nobody, thus the late to everything syndrome.  Is there a cure for this??

I always sleep on the right-hand side of the bed.  If I am forced to move to the middle or to the other side, I can't sleep.

I've been watching some of the new shows on TV...my favorite so far is "The Black List" with James Spader.  When he was younger he was quite the looker, now not so much, he is balding and has become somewhat paunchy, but I still enjoy those interesting characters he portrays. The show is little intense but an interesting concept. Give it a try.  I also watched the new Michael J Fox comedy...cute and The Trophy Wife...funny, made me laugh.  The Goldberg's had too much screaming and head pounding for me.  There just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I need or want to do.  Reading, I love, photography I love, editing my photos, I love, writing my blog, I love and I enjoy watching good TV....so how do I squeeze everything I love to do into a day along with doing a little (I said little here) housework, gardening, and being with friends? Something always gives and it's usually housework.

I love Fall...that's it, I just love Fall.  The colors, the sunny days & cool nights, sweaters, anything, I mean anything pumpkin the taste, the smell, the look, Thanksgiving its a favorite holiday, I even enjoy a good football game maybe once a season.

And my Friday Find is....I bought a new camera, the Nikon 7100, just arrived today.  Have barely had a chance to test it out, but it has received such raves I decided to indulge myself.  I have had several family shoots lately, so I saved the money I made from these shoots and invested in this new camera.   Will let you know how I like it.  I have already discovered one thing added on this camera that I like....a little knob on the top of the wheel that must be pushed in to change the shooting mode - Manual - Aperature Priority - Shutter Priority  etc.  Prior to this the wheel turned without having to press anything.  Many times I would find myself shooting in a different mode simply because the wheel had been accidentely turned without my knowledge. Just a little extra something that I was delighted with.

Sharing with Nancy's Random Five on Friday and Kim's Friday Finds....

  1. Hi Deanna, My mother was chronically late, so I am always early or on time. People who knew her would tell her a wrong (earlier) time, hoping she would get there in the vicinity of the event. James Spader is a great character actor - I think that's going to be a good show. Yippee - a new camera - let the snapping begin!

  3. p.s. had to add that it is nice to see a male actor suffer with aging and sagging and putting on pounds for once instead of 'just getting better' as they get older. :)

  4. Oh those soulful eyes....I could never put her down. I too have friends who I tell them "You will be late for your own funeral"...they reply...well that is a good thing. Hopeless♥ Have a great weekend.

  7. deanna this is the story of my life - so much i love to do...not enough time to squeeze it all in. totally suffer from 'late to everything' syndrome myself. :) so excited to hear about your new camera!

  8. Ahhh, you got the camera I've been wanting....but I have to say that I wasn't happy with that button on top of the dial as I've never had any problems with it moving into another mode by itself. I often change between modes while looking through the viewfinder and I thought it was a bit trickier to change it quickly. I've been saving for a longer macro lens, but I'm afraid my clicks are dwindling on my 7000.... :(

  9. Deanna, I can relate to loving so many things that I can't fit it all in in a day. So the housekeeping usually suffers. But isn't it fun!

  10. Yes I can relate to the fact too that there are so may things I love to do and so little time. Housekeeping is not something I love, but a necessity. Congrats on your new camera, I'm saving for a full frame... so expensive :( The puppy is adorable!

  13. Can relate to many things in your post except the running late. I am an early leaver, arriver whatever the case may be. Sometimes arrive too early!! Oh I have camera envy as I am longing for the 7100 like nobody's bussiness!! Enjoy your new camera!!

  14. Hahaha- totally relate to the frustrated driver thing - alas, I'm afraid there's no cure, but if you find one, I'd love to know! New camera!!!! Have fun!

  15. New pup, new TV shows, new camera. Sounds wonderful and exciting (except for the Goldbergs - I agree 100%). I have become increasingly 'late as usual' recently and do.not.like.it.one.bit. Funny how all the idiot drivers show up when you are pressed to the 2nd hand on the clock. Err! Can't wait to see what you think of your new camera - and loads of pictures of your pup.

  16. Every time I see a puppy on the street I look at it and go "oh so cute!" their owners must think I am nuts!! Glad I am not along in that though!

  18. Congrats on the new gear!!! How exciting!! I watched that Blacklist show thinking I would hate it, but I actually stayed pretty riveted. Not my kind of show normally, but the acting and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. James Spader reminded me of Hannibal Lecter, didn't you think? Although he's lost his looks, his acting is as convincing as ever.

  19. Well IF you should find a cure for the "fritters"...please pass it along to me! I loved "The Trophy Wife" and also "The Goldbergs". The Michael J. Fox show...I WANTED to love it. And I kinda feel guilty that I don't. But honestly, I found it very difficult to understand much of what he was saying :(. The show that I absolutely LOVE tho is that new James Caan one "Back in the Game". Some of the humor probably borders on inappropriate...which is prob why I love it :)

  20. I'm like Barb and am always early it seems. Must be the fact I was raised by a military man. :)
And congrats on the new camera... so jealous! No extra funds here for anything like that, but I did buy some art supplies today, so I'm happy.

    Have a wonderful weekend dear.

I can be an irate driver at times .... I sound so crazy at times! LOL

  22. Oh who needs housework when there's so many fun things to do?? Hope your lunch with your granddaughter was nice. :)

  23. Congrats on the new camera! I love all those things too. I just keep plucking away every day, sooner or LATER it all gets done. I am not sure how I feel about the Michael J. Fox show yet. I was super excited for it to come out, but it wasn't as funny as I had hoped. I will give it time. I also want to try the new Robin Williams show on CBS.

  24. I've heard from so many people that Blacklist is a great show. I'll have it give it a look!

Sweet pup for sure. Love her eyes. Dachshunds are so adorable!

  25. Cannot wait to see your new photos. Of course, I've thought the ones you take with the present camera are pretty terrific. I missed the first episode of "The Black List," though I have no idea what I could have been doing that was more important. I saw filming last month for one of the episodes and meant to start watching from the very beginning of the season.

  27. ohhhh a new camera. I decided that I want the 18-135 lens. I'm saving up for that puppy! Believe me...everyone else on the road IS an idiot! I know those days! I'm a survivor fan...seriously and ridiculously crazy about that show! great facts Deanna. Have fun with your new camera

  28. Looking forward to many cute photos of Cinder and beautiful ones from your new camera! Thank you so much for sharing your personal story. I found myself in the same position as I was always picking up one more item or doing one more thing before heading out the door which caused me to run late. I have now learned to walk out the door leaving things undone so I can avoid the aggravation of starting out my day stressed in and a foul mood. It is a hard habbit to break.

  29. Well I totally understand trying to fit it all in.. I used to worry about it. But not so much anymore and I don't know why.. Maybe because my house is on wheels and is a breeze to clean. And no yard work. Hee Hee.. I Bet you're going to have loads of fun with that new camera. Your photos are amazing. I love stopping in here and reading about your week.. My new favorite show so far is Hostages. I am hopping that the Following comes back with Kevin Bacon. I love that show as well.. I wasn't real thrilled with The Goldberg's either. So much to do so little time... :)

    Hugs~
