I am pretending it is Spring outside eventho the temps are hovering around 30 degrees. And next Sunday is Easter. I sure hope it warms up a little so those sweet young children can wear their new frocks without heavy coats and mittens. Didn't you always get a new dress, shoes, sometime a hat, and always new lacy gloves? The first year we moved to the Chicago area I dressed my son in white pants (he was still young enough that I could get away with it) on Easter Sunday....he blended nicely with the snow on the ground.
So hard to wrap my head around the idea that Passover is in a week - just snow cold and still snowing!!
ReplyDeleteI collect bunnies - I love yours. I see that you're pretending it's spring!
ReplyDeletehope it warms up for you!
ReplyDeleteHa-ha-ha! Laughing so hard at your memory of the white pants and snow! ๐๐๐
ReplyDeleteIt does seem so odd to be experiencing spring for weeks now and other parts of the country are still locked in winter's grip... I do love your sweet spring still life... and yes, I do remember getting new white shoes, gloves and dress (sometimes hat) for Easter... I still do the new dress, and sometimes new shoes, but that's about all... Hoping your weather breaks soon...
ReplyDeleteVery elegant photos and with a definite look of Spring ~
ReplyDeleteIt's cold in MA too ~ plus a wintry mix today ~
Happy Weekend to you,
artmusedog and carol
Three degrees here this morning. One word, COLD!
ReplyDeleteI went shopping for some new frocks and books for baby great grands first birthday!
Love your soft colors, eggs and such . . .
Another 'hot' autumn day here of 29C/85f - good pool weather still which is unusual. Our family never had a new clothes tradition for Easter but some Australians do.
ReplyDeleteYour Easter photos are lovely! We always dressed up in a special dress for Easter, and I did the same with my girls. It really is fun when they don't need heavy coats - and oh, those Easter bonnets!
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty, pretty!!
ReplyDeleteYour Easter photos are so fresh and bright. Perfect spring shots - it will come soon xx
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely beginning to feel like Easter! I love all those pastel colours and the bunny with a real basket! So cute! Yes, I remember lace gloves! We had to wear them at school in the warm season!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming by sharing your creative photography on the Weekly Top Shot, #171!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot! And yes-I remember getting the works for Easter Sunday. I hope Mother Nature cooperates. Xo
ReplyDeleteI just love your sweet spring still lives, Deanna. :) Have a blessed Easter week. xo
ReplyDeleteA new dress every year for Easter Sunday was a must! I still try to uphold this tradition as a girl can use any excuse she can get for shopping, right? We will be spending Easter in Seattle with the baby boy & fiance - can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteHave a very blessed week and remember the promise of new life that Easter & spring bring with it!
I love all the spring colors, and yes, I think I had white pants on my kids at one time too! The header is so spring like and that first photos has such a beautiful arrangement. I keep saying that spring will be here soon. Well, it is almost April, I cant be too far off. We will be in Glen Ellyn for Easter, I hope we can get to the Arboretum!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about Easter was I was a little girl was hunting for Easter eggs and getting a new frilly dress with white gloves. Thank goodness I understand the deeper meaning of Easter now.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely images.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I'm wishing for spring too! They say the the next few days are going to be around 60 or so…fingers-crossed that it comes true.
ReplyDeleteLove these images and so want your header (my snow shot has got to go!). Happy Easter Deanna.
ReplyDeleteHi Deanna, I am late in visiting, but I hope you had a lovely Easter! Your photos are always so beautiful! I love your new header, too! I do remember those white lace gloves.....and the sweet little 'Easter bonnets'. I always got a new pair of white patent leather 'buckle shoes', too! Hope your week is beautiful. xo Karen
ReplyDeleteHope your Easter was lovely. Such cute shots these are Deanna. I well remember all of those Easter outfits, and also seem to remember getting a pastel spring coat each year. Back in those days, spent a lot of money on easter outfits. Hope you are well!
