Three Daisy's

Today over at Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday the theme is 3....along with a texture from Kim.  Three little daisy's from my garden in a simple vase.

Today at Picture Summer the theme was "a tall drink", this is not so tall, but it sure was tasty...a Sprite, it's even better when I add a little wine for a summertime wine cooler.   Note the same daisy's in the background.

Walked thru the garden earlier today, love this month because so many of the flowers are blooming.  July is the pinnacle of blooms in my garden.  There are some that bloom in June, less that bloom in August, but July is bursting with blooms and color.

The Monarda (Bee Balm) is popping...it does remind me of a firecracker.

Isn't this daylily stunning, with it's deep purple petals, it's lime green glowing center and those bright yellow stamens?  I love this daylily, I have about 8-10 of these that line my backyard garden.  They bloom, & bloom and bloom.

Another daylily stunner...pale peach with a bright yellow center.  Remember when the only daylilies were those tall orange ones that grow wild alongside roads?  Now you can find daylilies in almost all colors, pink, peach, yellow, orange, red, puple, white....tall ones, short ones, miniture ones, repeat bloomers.  Not only are they beautiful, they require absolutely no care.  Just water them occasionally and make sure they get some sun.  They don't need full sun, just some sun.

This is one of my favorite places in the garden, a comfortable seat surrounded by plants & flowers....a little piece of paradise.

"Gardening is about enjoying the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity."      Lindley Karstens

Until next time.....(comments welcomed)
