Scavenger Hunt Sunday - The March 11, 2012 Edition

Good morning all you lovelies...since I took so many pictures in the last 10 days, I had plenty to pick from for this week's challenges, the only one I stumbled on was "crowded" don't know why, maybe I was looking for a masterpiece and it just wasn't appearing.  Without further mumbling the challenges this week are:

  • Water
  • Light
  • Chocolate
  • Animal
  • Crowded
Water - I had several choices amongst my 1,000 plus pics this week for water, but I choose this beautiful fountain that sits right in the middle of quaint, lovely downtown old Scottsdale.

Light - Again, many choices of "light" but after some deliberation I thought this was the perfect pick.  The 3 ladies in the reflection of the light in the window are me (the short blonde/gray haired in the front), Terri on the right, and Barbara on the left.  Barbara is from Tucson, Terri is from Phoenix and while I was visiting friends in Phoenix the three of us were able to meet and spend the day together in Tucson, having only met through our photography on-line.  It was sooo fun to spend the day with these two wonderful ladies.

Chocolate - This one took absolutely no time at all to choose - while in Scottsdale we stopped at the world famous Sugar Bowl to gobble down one of their carousel of flavors ice-cream sundaes...they had a mother-lode menu full of any kind of ice-cream treat.  Vanilla is always at the top of my list when it comes to ice-cream and chocolate is what must adorn it, hot preferably and running deliciously down the sides of the scoops, add whipped cream and a cherry on top and that is perfection.  I gotta stop, I am drooling just thinking about this delight!!  Cute, cute place decorated in typical ice cream parlour colors, pink, white & black.

Animal - My friend Barbara, (see photo above) has had several bob-cats enter her backyard and she has been able to photograph them.  Terri and I requested that she have one available when we visited, but unfortunately she was not able to produce one while we were there....probably a good thing.  So instead I have a pic of a sheep, I know pretty long stretch from bob-cat to sheep, but you gotta get what you can.

Crowded -Not wanting to get too close, I will definitely by-pass this crowd of spines on the cactus.

That's it for the week...happy to be a part of this group.  Each week a new challenge...stop by Ashley's blog and see many more delights......

Until next time.....

  17. I love your collection...especially the one of the three of you in the window, and the last one with the text added to the cactus.

Oh, and I'm kind of glad you didn't see the wild bobcat! I have a feeling, you'd be like me and would walk closer to it to get a better shot. ;)

  19. Since I'm a former AZ girl I know just where those stallions are located and I know where you got that wonderful ice cream! And you're right about the cactus. One time I thought it can't hurt to just touch those things once. Of course, they're like hairs made out of needles, only 400 times thinner. It took me three days to get them out of my fingers. You just go near them and they jump right into you, I swear!
