Letters on Friday

Dear Anonymous, would you leave me alone already.  You have flooded my inbox with frivolous, worthless, scandalous messages which do not and will never get published as comments on my blog.  So give it up.

Dear Spring, whaaat happened??  Last year the flowering quince was already in full bloom....this year, nothing, absolutely nothing.

Dear Bunco Babes, you are so fun, with your chatter, your good food, and your hugs for everyone....altho my pockets were empty at the end of the evening and I came home with no winnings on Monday night, it's always a fun night, winning or not.

Dear Bookclub Babes, you're fun too. You have expanded my world and brought me tales that have swept me away to different lands, different times, scared me, made me cry, made me laugh, and always entertaining with your words. PS...I have not read any of the books on the stack...these are all recommendations from friends and blogger buds.  I have more books on my TBR pile than I have food in the refrigerator.

Dear Tulips, you gave such pleasure for a whole week, but today I said goodbye to you, as your petals dropped like the leaves in Autumn.

Dear Beyond Beyond and 52 of You...I am failing miserably at keeping up with the lessons.  Since the cold continues, maybe this weekend will be the perfect time to catch up.

Would so appreciate a hop over to my collaborative blog...Focusing On Life where I am reminiscing on Easters past....

  1. (why would you continue to allow anonymous comments on your blog? i've never done so and have very, very, very, very little spam - ever!)

  2. I changed my blog settings to only accept registered users and have had zero spam. Your photos are gorgeous, even the withering tulip. Have a great weekend!

  3. Ugh...all I can say is "Anonymous's" mom must be very, very embarrassed of his actions :). I have banished "anonymous" from posting on my blog. Poof! He's gone.

  4. Yeah, I went to the 'registered user' only option because I dislike word verification and I don't get spam anymore.
Lovely photos! I'm a new follower.

  5. Oh the weather is so messed up! The thunderstorms kept me awake last night, and this morning it is in the low 40's. Spring has some kind of bug- that's what I think!

  9. Beautiful images! I'm with you on Spring, where has she gone? It's two days after her (supposed) debut in Washington DC and the temps were under 30 this morning...

  10. I don't allow anonymous comments, either.
I was hoping that you had read The Orchardist- It's on my list, too.

  12. That flowering quince is lovely Deanna -- everything here too is a bit late. I'm actually hoping for a couple of light snows before April arrives because it's been so dry. Wishing you a wonderful weekend! xo

  16. I love your photos, especially the flowering quince. And even the poor tulip! The weather here in Virginia is crazy, too. We're supposed to get some snow this weekend. That stack of books looks delightful. My TBR list is lonnnnnng, too!

Visiting form Nancy's Random 5. Nice to meet you!

  20. Quince is exquisite! I am in love with it! :)

Anonymous comments are ridiculous. I don't understand the point. What kind of person sits at a computer and dreams up that stuff. Get a life, i say!!

  21. Delightful blog and photos. Wishing you a happy Easter.

  22. Oh, Deanna, you make me laugh!

The last couple of days my blog spam has been out of control. So irritating!

Last night we got 3" of snow! Most of it melted today.

I made a trip to Small Town for a hair trim and the get my eye brows done. Hubby had a few errands for me to run also. It was fun to see and visit my old co-workers and friends!

The TBR pile; I have one myself. Mom and I share books and she sent me home with a pile in February. In addition, I keep seeing good reads on Pixel of Ink (via Facebook). How can I not down load a good looking read when it's free? Every time I see an update I have to tell myself no!

My birthday flowers are still hanging in there. They are not as perky as last week, but I am still enjoying them.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

  23. That flowering quince is so pretty! Ughh...I wish the snow would melt so spring could show its face around here. I love the photo of the books too. Hope you have a good weekend :)

  24. I can sympathize with you over anonymous comments...I delete at least twenty to twenty-five a day! It's awful. I even saw where they were coming....they used the same posts to come to my blog, so I deleted those posts, so the comments were fewer, but still there. It's such a nuisance! But, I won't let it dampen my blogger spirit!

Still wishing warmer weather your way!!!

  25. Beautiful photos! I'm new here, visiting through Random 5. Glad to find you!

  26. Lovely photos today, Deanna! I have too many books on my shelf to read, too. But I am reading a good one now, written by a fellow blogger. (Will post on that when done) Sorry about anonymous. I don't get them because I only allow registered users to comment. Foiled again! Ha ha! I see them on other blogs and they are nasty and awful. Crazy world. I love your new header. And the Quince. My favorite blooming shrub. Enjoy your weekend! Hugs, xoxo

  27. Nothing I do or tried makes "Anonymous" go away, but blogger made the effort to block it from my blog (but not from my email inbox). Still love these Letters on Friday... must try it soon. I Love Spring blossom, your photo is breath-taking!

    1. The flowering quince is beautiful. Any abnormality in the weather pattern is scary. Global warming is REAL. I had a spam attached to one particular post. I cured the problem by deleting that post. Maybe I was just lucky it was so easy.

  32. Hi Deanna, I read my way down to here - your photos make me smile. I enjoyed The Orchardist - I reviewed it on the blog. Now, I'm going to have a look at the others in your stack! It's been snowing here in Breckenridge, too, but, of course, we want snow at a ski resort! It's also snowy in Denver this weekend - I'm sure the city folk are less eager for it. I haven't been on-line much but thought I'd stop by today and say "Hi!" You sound well - I'm glad.
