Raindrops on Roses

If you walked into my world right now, you would see me in my winter robe, winter slippers, heat running, cup of hot coffee by my side and then you realize that it's June 3rd....what the heck??  But the sun is shining....now that may not seem like a big deal but considering this morning it was 45 degrees outside and the sun hasn't shone it's face in awhile, it is a big deal.  So with winter robe still on, I grabbed my camera and walked outside to capture that sunshine.

You can see the raindrops on the roses....

You can see the raindrops on the leaves of the daylilys....

On the peony buds...

And on the Weigela flowers...

So I am saying once again...."rain rain go away, but please come back another day."

I am wishing sunshine in your life.

PS...the baby cardinals are just now beginning to emerge from their eggs.  I didn't want to get too close and upset Mama...hopefully I will be able to take their baby portraits soon.

Until next time....

  2. I'd love to trade your 45°days for our 90. Wish we could send our rain to drought-stricken areas. We've had too much also. :/

  6. Oh boy - I didn't realize you were getting so much rain. It's been incredibly hot and humid here, and while I prefer neither - I guess I'll take the hot and humid. Although - those raindrops made for some lovely photos! I wish you warm sunny weather soon!

  7. It's 84 degrees here right now. Last Friday, it was 94 with a heat advisory. We mowed the yard in that and we felt sick. I wish we had a little of your coolness and you had a little of our heat....then the world would be perfect!

  8. We've had a bit of sunshine today (makes a change!), and I haven't had to put the heating on today! Feels weird not hearing the sound of my boiler kicking in. However, the garden does need rain doesn't it?...that way you don't have to! Fantastic photos of the rain on the petals. Take care and keep warm. Chel x

  13. Your garden makes me smile - rain or shine. The droplet photos are wonderful, Deanna. I gardened for the first time today - still some snow in the yard but the perennials are raising their heads in the dirt.

  15. Love the raindrops, Deanna. So many pretty accented flowers.

It has been a little chilly here too. Yesterday I mowed the lawn in jeans, sweatshirt and jacket. I dug out my tall socks to wear today. This afternoon I was glad to see the sun and bright blue sky with big puffy clouds.

Hope you see more sunny days!

  16. It's the same here in NY, Deanna.
I walked around with a sweatshirt on, all day, and the rest of the week promises much of the same. BUT, so many of the flowers are in bloom, so it makes it a little easier to take.

As always, your photographs are just beautiful!
