Old & Loved

Collage, Mosaic, Storyboard all different words, different spellings but all are related in that they usually tell a story with the images which are embedded within them.  Whether it be a story of time, of place, of someone or something, a color or a shape or tone.  Some can be complex, comprised of hundreds of images, while others can be as simple as two or three.   In January I began creating a storyboard each week, choosing 7 images that represent my week posting it here every Sunday.  At the end of the year it will be my life in 52 storyboards.  To me pictures always speak louder than words.

Since beginning Kim Klassen's "Beyond Layers" class she has provided us with textures (ofcourse) lessons & templates for storyboards, encouraging us to create our own.  I am in bonafide bliss with her templates.  I have created 4 with "you betcha", more to come.

Today's storyboard is a fun little collection of "old & loved" from earlier years.  An old doll, beginning to get quite ragged, old fabric with it's sweet print, a creamer & sugar picked up at an antiques market, my Mother's cross-stitched tablecloth, an old reader, and a miniature tea set that I purchased years and years ago.  Apart they are but one, each a treasure, but together they become a treasure trove of sweet memories.

And speaking of treasures, I have been invited and included in a new collaborative blog entitled Focusing on Life.  There are 10 of us that met thru our love of photography and have created this blog to encourage others to focus on their lives, do what they love, to be creative and to share their thoughts.  Today is my day to post.  I would love it if you would stop by and leave us your thoughts. Follow this link.
