Today since it has been so, so cold (last night it was 6 degrees prior to going to bed) and we had snow in the weather forecast, instead of a "fun foto friday" Catherine and I decided to go see a movie. "The Descendants" has received such rave reviews and George Clooney won "Best Actor" at the Golden Globes last week this was the one to see. Before going to the movie I said to myself, "Deanna, you don't need any popcorn.." So what did I do as I walked thru the door....smelled the fresh popcorn and immediately walked to the concession counter and purchased a "small" bag of popcorn. I have absolutely no will power whatsoever. I did enjoy the movie, George Clooney is not only one of the most drop dead gorgeous men on the planet, he is also a terrific actor, very deserving of the award and a definite "go see". After the movie we drove right across the parking lot to the California Pizza Kitchen". The Sedona Tortilla Soup and the Barbecued Chicken Chopped Salad, two of my all-time fav's, were my choices without hesitation, they never disappoint and today was no different.
Did I mention the snow....yes it was snowing when we walked out of the movie and continued snowing....HARD while we were eating.....and HARDER still as I drove home. All I could think of while driving was....please, Dear God, don't let me get into another accident, even a small fender-bender would drive State Farm right over the edge to cancel me. God answered my prayer and I arrived home safely, without a scratch.
As you can see it is snowing so hard you can barely see the trees on the other side of the retention area. Tomorrow should be gorgeous. But the Friday night traffic has to be horrendous!! I can hear the snow plows roaring and the scrape, scrape, scrape of shovels as the neighborhood tries to stay ahead of the snow.
I am feeling so much better after seeing my sweetheart yesterday. He had a rough spell after Christmas, depressed, not eating, but he seems to be back on track, eating well again and not so down. Seeing him happy, always makes me happy. He is still a handsome, handsome man.
"You only lose energy when life becomes dull in your mind. You don't have to be tired and bored. Get interested in something. Get absolutely enthralled in something. Throw yourself into it with abandon." ~ Norman Vincent Peale
Until next time......
