Monday, Oct 17th 9:30 AM - Dr. appt for yearly physical. Set the alarm so I would NOT oversleep....made coffee, checked e-mail then off to shower and dress. Shaved (since I am on the other side of menopause the body hair growth has slowed down considerably) because it has been awhile and thought it only polite to remove what little hair growth there was before presenting my totally nude body to be poked and prodded by my (thank-goodness) female Dr. Thought it was a little strange that I received no reminder call, but left at 9:15 to arrive on time. Walked in, receptionist looked at me strangely, and I thought, uh oh, this does not feel good. She proceeded to tell me I did not have an appt. and didn't even have one scheduled. WHAT?? I remember specifically going to the Dr. office to get my perscriptions refilled and scheduling an appointment. She remembed nothing!!! I even blogged about my trip to the office on Sept 29th....that did nothing to convince her. Oh well. Back again on Thursday (new date), same routine, but probably won't have to shave this time. (Is this too much information??) Where did I get that date and time, if someone had not given it to me? This is one time I am going to point the finger at them and not me, I think they just didn't write it down or put it in their computer or whatever they were supposed to do. I know age is creeping up, but please, I don't make up Dr.'s appointments, especially that, ugh, yearly physical.
Since I was up, shaved, and dressed and because it was a beautiful day and I had not purchased mums for my new red pots, decided that this found free-time should not be wasted. Off to Home Depot, very disappointed, all the mums were already in full bloom, it was that 80 degree weather we had last week that did it. Did manage to buy a pumpkin and some orange pansies (a fall fav). Back in the car and off to my fav garden center. And yes, they had some beautiful mums that had not all burst into bloom (yippee!!). Feel like if you buy mums that are in full bloom, they will not last as long as those that still have blooms to open, make sense right? Please say yes, after the Dr. office confusion I need some re-assurance that I am not totally gone. Took my camera along and captured some beautiful colors, ain't Fall grand!!
"I'll match my flops with anybody's but I wouldn't have missed them. Flops are part of life's menu and I've never been one to miss out on any of the courses." ~ Rosalind Russell
Until next time......
It was all part of the grand scheme - otherwise you would not have gotten these beautiful photos!! And yes, mums with little to no blooms . . . ; )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors and photos! One of the best butterfly photos I've seen. Everytime I forget someting I worry that I'm on m way down and out! Trying to get a grip on that!
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures! Gorgeous! also laughed at your dr office fiasco. Would you believe I showed up the wrong day once for a colonoscopy. Had to go through the same misery the very next week. Aging.... has its downfalls. LOL
ReplyDeleteUGH.....I have my appt tomorrow at 2:15. Surely hope I have better luck than you. Will take my camera with me just in case. Love your beautiful captures. These flower shots are lovely. I cannot believe you are still seeing butterflies....we had few this summer and they are all done now. genie
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sure they probably forgot to record your appointment, Deanna. That's not something you would forget.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers -- the pansies are so pretty! :)
What a beautiful use you made of your unplanned free time Deanna!
ReplyDeleteThese are just beautiful. I do love those pansies!
Thank you so much for sharing this today at The Creative Exchange.
Have a great evening!

I love those rich colours, the first one is especially beautiful :)
ReplyDeletejust MaRvELoUs!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose pansies are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteDeanna, I think I just left a comment - a brilliant one at that :) but my fumble fingers hit something on the keyboard and it flew off - to who knows where . . . so anyway - your butterfly is astonishingly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow, this are gorgeous. Wonderful colors and such a marvelous job on the texture image.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous photos! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThe first shot is SO gorgeous. Rich full colors, oh I love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a Monday! Hope the rest of your week more than makes up for the ordinary beginning. I like to buy flowers/plants in bud so I can enjoy the most out of them too.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you had your camera with you, you never know when you may want it.
Love the pansies. I think you've inspired me to make my own purchase. There's no way you could have made up that appt. No. Way. And that's not TMI, you are keeping it real.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to go out to buy some flowers.. Because they look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI used to work in a Dr office a long time ago. And they make more mistakes than they will let on too. You push one wrong button on a computer and poof your appointment is gone.
Hope you have a happy week..
Hugs, Linda
Hmmm, that's odd about that doctor's appointment. It bad enough thinking about it once, now you have to do it again. I haven't went in four years...ever since I had my daughter. I'm trying to avoid thinking about it. Love your pretty photos, especailly the one with the butterfly. What a great shot :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots! Had a similar experience, my appointment was at 8AM. Not a happy camper!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! You are not alone. I have shown up on the date I had and they told me I was supposed to be there the day before...Whaaat? I had plans that day and would not have scheduled. Oh, well! Hope you are having a great week!...hugs..Debbie
ReplyDeleteHi Deanna! I found my way over here from Becky's blog. I admit that I didn't spend a whole lot of time reading (did read this post, and the one from end of September that you mentioned. No way you could have made up that appt., I think someone at the dr.'s office messed up)... but I really, really enjoyed your photos. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAdded you to my google reader, so I will be back :-)
i do love the rich vibrant colours and the composition in those photos!
ReplyDeleteoutstanding shots!
i love your blog:)
