Focus

Kim Klassen in her class Beyond Layers has been given us word prompts every day this week and every day I have given thought to each one but haven't taken action on any of the words except one.  This one...

Our prompt for today is focus.  Sometimes I have a lot of trouble focusing on what I should be, tending to focus on other things ie should be focused on the road while driving but too busy looking at what is around me.  Everytime I drive out to see my sweetie, my focus is first on him and how he is doing, and then after our visit my focus tends to shift to the world around me. The countryside and it's beauty.  I have been to the mountains, I have been to the oceans, and I have been to the desert this year, all delightful and beautiful places, but I still get a very satisfying and peaceful feeling driving the backroads of the midwest.  Seeing the newly plowed and planted fields of corn, the horses in the fields enjoying the fresh new grasses, an old lawn chair ready for sittin'...focusing on these visions brings me added peacefulness.

I hope you are able to focus on the weekend a head.  Enjoy it to the last minute....!!

  1. Oh my, oh my, oh my! You have rocked the shots today Miss Deanna!!! Love that first one, and the one of the barn with the blue chair, and the horse and the field.... ; ) And no problems here enjoying it to the last minute, as my husband will tell you - I'm always telling him just one more, ha!

  5. Wow, your photos are amazing! I absolutely love all of them. Your heart was definitely behind the lens on this one. Your post makes me want to slow down and make a few more stops on my drive between Minnesota and Wisconsin every week. I also need to "focus" more on the beauty beyond my yard.

I took my first class from Kim Klassen last summer on how to use Photoshop PSE9. She teaches an amazing class, and made what had seemed impossible to learn for over a year, doable. I am definitely still learning the program, but the more I play, the easier it gets.

Thank you for such a lovely post, and may you enjoy your weekend to the fullest also!

  17. Gosh these are amazing. I think my favorites have to be the bokeh horse with focus on the fence and the horse below. All are truly spectacular, though! Focus is something I've noticed has been eluding me lately. I don't know if it's aging, menopause, or the traumatic events of this year, but I can't seem to get with it. I am working on it and photography helps! Enjoy the rest of our weekend.

  18. I find too that the back roads are the place I find the best peace. Always no matter where we have lived it was and still is the drives on the back roads that meander through the countryside that I like best.
