I Am Grateful

I am grateful that we sing the "National Anthem" at every sports event.
I am grateful that we display the American flag on pertinent holidays.
I am grateful that I am able to recite the Pledge of Alligiance from memory.
I am grateful and honored to shed a tear at the majestic strains of "America the Beautiful."
And I am grateful that we teach our children what it means to be patriotic.

  2. Sweet picture! I'm glad too. We still do it here in our county, though I think it's thought to be passe in much of the country.

  8. What a sweet photo! Deanna, you are missing your calling as a portrait photographer. I'd give anything to be able to do portraits.

At my dad's football game Saturday night I was pleasantly surprised to hear over the loudspeaker that there would be a time of prayer and then the pledge before the game. I'm proud, happy, and grateful to live in an area of the country that hasn't completely removed God from everything.

I never think of putting textures on a portrait. You did a wonderful job.
