A Recommendation & An Unpleasant Event

                                  Life of Pi Poster

Earlier in the week 2 of my friends and I planned on going to see Life of Pi at the "cheap" theater on Friday.  But due to circumstances both had to cancel leaving me with the decision...do I go alone or skip it?   I opted to go alone...there were so many people in the audience I certainly didn't feel alone.  If you have not seen this movie I urge you to go BEFORE it leaves the theater.  It is a feast for the eyes....the beauty is breathtaking, the scenes, the colors, the animals on land, the fish in the sea, the skies both calm & stormy.  I could have stayed for another viewing immediately after to relish in the beauty a second time.  It is an amazing story in itself, but the beauty of this movie is not only the story but the visual impact it delivers.  Go see it, one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.

And speaking of animals....last night my Toby jumped up on the couch and snuggled next to me as I sat watching TV, something he does regularly.  But this time there was a definite unpleasant smell that accompanied him.  Checking further I discovered, something clinging to his rear end.  Now, I am not going into detail with any further description, but needless to say we headed to the bathroom for a late-night shampoo in the tub.  Smelling better and definitely cleaner Toby raced around the house, running so fast I thought surely he would drop from exhaustion.  Why do dogs do that after getting a bath?  All I want after taking a nice bath is to put on my jammies and curl up in bed, not race around the house.  Does your dog do this??  This week has been a week of removal for my Toby, first it was the burr on his head that covered his eye, now this...both of the events unpleasant for both man & beast.

"I think dogs are the most amazing creatures, they give unconditional love.  For me they are the role model for being alive."  ~  Gilda Radner

Until next time....

  2. Oh that is too funny. He must run around to warm up after his bath. My poor guy needs a bath desperately!

  6. I will look out for "Pi." It hasn't been on my list, but I will add it. I rarely run around, so no thought to running after a nice bath. :) Wishes for a good weekend!

  7. Yes, having 3 dogs I'm familiar with these types of "adventures." :p

And 2 of them have fluffy pommie skirts, so.... ick!

  8. I think he is saying what is she going to do to me next? Mine goes to the groomer to get her bath so I don't know if she runs around or not. Probably does as she is a crazy little munchkin.

This movie wasn't on my list but I guess I must add it. :)

  9. Deannna, don't worry your furry friend is not the only one acting like a crazy critter. Our yorkie thrushes himself against every wall in our home after baths. There will not be any paint left in a couple of years!!! It is the craziest thing you have ever seen...you would think he is on drugs...for goodness sakes.

  10. What a great Toby portrait! What kind of dog is he - such an expressive face. I saw that Pi is in the theater near our city home - will try to see it.

  11. Toby is so precious! The furry ones do occasionally make me wince whenever something gets caught there. I'm such a germaphobe that I'm really quite surprised that I let my dogs sleep with me. No telling what all is in my bed. I just refuse to think about it. Yes, our dogs act like they've been given a B12 shot after a bath. lol

I haven't seen a good movie in quite some time; now you've made me want to see Life of Pi! Sounds like my kind of movie. Thanks! (the pic didn't load for me for some reason)

  12. Perhaps a trip to the laser hair removal technician might solve Toby's issue.

I saw Life of Pi...it was excellent.

  14. I so loved Gilda Radner. If you think taking care of such unpleasantries is challenging with a dog, try it with a cat. Been there, done that -- too, too many times!

  15. Your post brought me a much needed laugh today. My felines have definitely jumped up on the bed with a little something extra still attached, but thankfully my dog, Brutus, hasn't had that happen yet. Although, he did go down by the lake and roll around on a dead fish and then jump up to snuggle. I'm not sure which would be worse! Have a lovely day!!

  16. What a grand story! He is such a cute heart and I look forward to meeting him! You made me think of the time my pup was sprayed by a skunk...that was soooo stinky for a good week!
