Let Light Into Your World

Open your mind.
Open your heart.
Let light into your world.
Let it banish the darkness that sometimes engulfs us.
Let the light guide your way.

Are you feeling it as much as I am?  I need more light, I need more sunshine.  We have one day of sunshine and 5 days of grey.  This one in every five does not fill up my light meter, leaving me wanting more.  Parallel to giving me a bite of a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie and then telling me no more.  But I want more, whatdaya mean no more?

In the afternoons when the sun shines brightly my living room becomes flooded with sunlight.  To sit on the couch and soak up that sunshine is blissful.  My Mom spent many sunny days sitting as close to the window as space would allow, staying in that spot until the sun began to disappear behind the rooftops.  We all need sun, we need that light to brighten our thoughts and erase the gloom that descends when the skies remain grey.

Today I will have to be satisfied with images of brightness, the skies outside remain grey, but on the inside I am seeking lightness so the darkness doesn't engulf me.

Another of my daughter's cats....this one appropriately named Snowy.

And another....now you know why she has been dubbed "the crazy cat lady"

And the remains of the flowers, daisy's always seem to last the longest.

  2. It's been that way here too, Deanna. I'm feelin' it today. And there's not much to photograph out there either. But I'm not complaining. :)

Gorgeous cats and your daisy hung in there as long as my carnation.

  3. Deanna! You found me! I AM the Holly that you are wondering about! I am relatively new to photography and when I found your photos, I knew I had to follow you. I absolutely love your eye and your beautiful pictures. They inspire me. I don't follow too many people that I don't know (I hope you don't think it's weird for a stranger to be one of your followers), but I really really love your pictures very much and look forward to your posts!

  8. Beautiful as always. You have such an eye for detail.

I love how Snowy just sort of blends into the background, and the daisies are pretty.

And, yes...I need a big dose of color in my gray days, too. Blah!

I have never seen a cat so white as Snowy is, and what a beauty.

I am with you on the light. For us last week it was Sunny 0 and Gray/Dull 7. Enough already is right!!!

Thank you so much for sharing with us this week at The Creative Exchange.

  11. Well my friend here in Las Vegas we get tons of sunshine.. All year. It is weird when the sun is not shining. But today is one of those weird days.. It is overcast and rainy today. I LOVE it. I guess if it were overcast and rainy everyday I would feel the same as you! I so believe we need that light to be happy!

I just love your photos today. You can't go wrong with a photo of kitties. There eyes look so pretty!
