Getting the Garden Ready

I worked outside most of the day, getting the garden ready for summertime, pulling the pots out, setting out the garden ornaments.  This has to be one of the favorite times of the year for me.  Hopefully by the end of the week I will have the pots full of fresh flowers and the porch ready for sitting and sipping.

The hostas are full and lush, the pots are ready for flowers....

The garden ornaments are back out of storage...

The roses are in full bloom....

Linking this to Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday....used 2 of Kim's textures (1) Golden, 1 layer at 100% soft light and (2) Chase also 1 layer at 100% at soft light...

My mystery Iris from last year is back again, this year I think I may get at least 4 flowers instead of the lowly one I had last year....

I have a ton of buds on the Endless Summer Hydrangea....

The porcelain vine on the fence is sprouting new leaves...

Sure looks like something has been chewing on the pansies....

And with me, always by my side is Toby....  He looks as tired as I feel.

Days filled with sun, flowers and favorite companions, I wish for you.....

"My whole life is an adventure.  But you don't have to do something racy and wild to have an adventure.  You can have one in your own backyard."  ~  Gary Paulsen

Until next time.....

  1. I guess if I put my garden ornaments in during winter, they would last longer...

Your garden looks lovely, Deanna -- :)

  2. Your garden looks so green and tidy. I love your collection of flowers. I am going to try and do some pot here. I just need to work out where to go for them!

Also just want to let you know I sent you an email yesterday and got one back from you today but saying you were in Madrid and had had your bag stolen. It was asking the undisclosed recipients to transfer funds. Seems someone's got into my or you email. It's very worrying. I didn't want to email again. You might want to keep an eye out for anything odd. Laura

  3. Your garden is looking so pretty! I sure love those red roses. I really need to get out and get some things done in my yard too. I have so many weeds so it seems a little overwhelming though :)

I just read Laura's comment...I got the same email she did. I didn't open it though.

  6. Whew, I hope you got some help...that's a lot of work! It's looking mighty nice though Deanna. And yes Toby looks as if he thinks he did all the work. I got the same e-mail, of course I knew you weren't in Madrid, deleted. Why on earth do those people think we're going to fall for that?

  7. Your garden is shaping up, what a blessing to have such a beautiful place to visit.

I too received the Madrid e-mail. I too ignored it because I knew you were in your garden, blogs are wonderful things!

  9. Lovely, lovely. I love seeing that we have so many garden treasures in common, even if we do see them in different months. :) If you can, can you email me from an email different from your normal one? I'll explain there.

  10. Your yard puts mine to shame; however, I do not care. I am a lover of OPF (other people's flowers!) I do sometimes help my daughter in her flower garden. Recently we've fenced her chain link fence. The Shi Tzus can walk under in hilly areas and the Golden Retrieve can dig under. So hopefully when we're through, they'll be properly confined.

Look forward to your summer shots!

  11. I love these photos. I love ALL your photos actually, especially your Texture Tuesday's. I found out about Kim Klassen through your blog. You're very talented, and I loove your little dog! I even love his name.

  14. Your gardens are beautiful. If I was closer I'd stop by with a basket of fresh eggs and sit a sip on your porch with you.

  15. Hi Deanna,

You and I are being scammed. I got this email from you:
Hope you get this on time, I made a trip to Madrid, Spain and had my bag stolen from me with my passport and personal effects therein. The embassy has just issued me a temporary passport but I have to pay for a ticket and settle hotel bills. I've made contact with my bank but it would take me 3-5 working days to access funds in my account from Madrid.

Western Union transfer is the best option to send money to me. Let me know if you need my details(Full names/location) to make the transfer. I'll refund the money back to you as soon as I return.

Let me know if you can be of any help.

    Thanks,

    Deanna
