Today is Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday which is always fun...she skipped last week, so I am sure many are biting at the bit waiting to display their pretties using 2 of Kim's textures this week. That was the challenge, use two and use two I did.
I decided to post the original to show you what a little manipulation and Kim's lovely textures can do to your photos...
First the original.....pretty pink vase (IKEA) filled with a couple of branches from my Weigelia Bush sitting on a stool in my living room.
Same image but after lightening up, removing the blue tones, brushing out the background, adding my fav effect, Velvet Truffle, then adding Kim's Dusty Rose at soft light 61% and Let Go at linear burn, 42% here is the result....ahhh the beauty of Photoshop.
Since I began this post, I needed to carry out the garbage to the curb, today is garbage day and I had lots to get rid of due to my cleaning out. As I was pulling out the large garbage bin, 2 hardwood boards decided it was time to fall and fall they did right on top of my foot. YOUCH!!! Talk about hurt, and by the time I got out to the curb with the bin the top of my foot had swollen to the size of a baseball. I managed to get back in the house with the help of my neighbor, plop myself down, elevated my foot, icing it with a plastic bag of ice and downing 3 Advils. Now how stupid, this was definitely not in my plans for the week. I was due to go to a fancy luncheon today, NOT. It is feeling a bit better after icing and the swelling has subsided a little...we will see how the day goes. Guess I will catch up on some of my reading. Boy, life is always full of surprises.
Linking up with Kim at Texture Tuesday.... Stop on by to see all the lovelies.

Until next time.....
This is so beautiful! I have MUCH to learn!
ReplyDeleteOh, I really have to get busy learning elements don't I? Now that my metals class is all done until the fall, maybe, just maybe.......and it really does make magic doesn't it! Okay, now about your foot, please be careful and don't do what I did...I actually broke my foot once, it hurt yes, but I could walk so I never went to the doctor, until I had some other issues with my foot and well, a few xrays later I found out that I had broken it and it didn't heal properly. I now deal with a nasty tendonitis flare because of it.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. I love PS so much. I am so glad I have for my entertainment. So sorry about your foot hope you get to make to the luncheon.
ReplyDeleteso pretty, deanna!
ReplyDeletehahaha... life is full of mishaps, isn't it? sorry you hurt your foot. but i'm glad you can laugh about it. i wasn't laughing at my little mishap yesterday... forgetting that i had eggs boiling on the stove and letting all the water boil out, burning the eggs in the pan, filling the house with smoke {lucky i didn't burn it down} and then, on top of it all, one of the eggs exploded all over my kitchen after i took it off the heat... but luckily, it was after i left the kitchen. could have been disastrous, otherwise!
i hope your foot is feeling better soon. love your textured image today.
ooops... forgot to say, now that i look back on what happened, i can laugh. =)

Ouch! I'm sorry. I want to learn how to do these textures. I have Photoshop, but all I use it for is to edit photos. Where do you learn how to do this? And might I say that yours is quite beautiful today!
