I am grateful that we sing the "National Anthem" at every sports event.
I am grateful that we display the American flag on pertinent holidays.
I am grateful that I am able to recite the Pledge of Alligiance from memory.
I am grateful and honored to shed a tear at the majestic strains of "America the Beautiful."
And I am grateful that we teach our children what it means to be patriotic.

Such good thoughts, Deanna, along with a beauty! That texture sets it off perfectly!
ReplyDeleteSweet picture! I'm glad too. We still do it here in our county, though I think it's thought to be passe in much of the country.
ReplyDeleteYour sentiment in this post is as beautiful as your image!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot and texture and I love what you wrote.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet photo! Deanna, you are missing your calling as a portrait photographer. I'd give anything to be able to do portraits.
ReplyDeleteAt my dad's football game Saturday night I was pleasantly surprised to hear over the loudspeaker that there would be a time of prayer and then the pledge before the game. I'm proud, happy, and grateful to live in an area of the country that hasn't completely removed God from everything.
Lovely portrait and your words are heartening.
ReplyDeleteLovely words and a lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteI never think of putting textures on a portrait. You did a wonderful job.
