The flowers in my yard have just about had it...probably not all their fault. With the little amounts of rain and my neglect it's no doubt they have given up. My zest for working in the yard and garden this year came to a screeching halt....I am going to blame it on two things (we all have to put the blame on something other than ourselves...right??) the heat and my decision (??) to re-do all 3 bathrooms at the same time. So to get my fill of the loveliness of flowers I must find them elsewhere. A trip to the Arboretum is always a wonderful treat, somehow they never lose their zest for keeping the gardens looking good. If your garden is looking a little bedraggled, come walk with me.
The grasses were swaying in the breeze...
The dahlias were stunning...
Even the bugs at the arboretum are colorful...
I can always find a monarch hanging around the milkweed...
There are even slight signs of fall....
"Normal day, let me
be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you,
bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in the quest of
some rare and perfect tomorrow."
~ Mary Jean Irion
Until next time.....
Wonderful selection, I so love that first one.
ReplyDeleteLovely, all. I especially love the image full of pink!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! eye candy galore! I really love the canvas texture work you are doing - gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking me along of your lovely walk. My flowers, like yours, are not so pretty right now, except for the morning glories.
ReplyDeleteSo much beauty here it's hard to pick a favorite. Yikes! You know how to photograph a garden, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the walk at the Arboretum. The flowers are lovely and you do such a wonderful job of photographing them!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, that was so lovely and much needed! I'm officially sick of the heat...it's been still at 100 degrees, and it's football season and well, in the metal bleachers, we are all melting!! I'm really not sure how my son does it?
ReplyDeleteDeanna,
ReplyDeleteCan I come spend the day with you? Visiting an arboretum and taking stunning pictures is right up my alley. I love today's quote. Thanks for the cheer up.
Gorgeous photos, Deanna! An arboretum is a perfect place to see gardening done right. :))
ReplyDeleteOh Deanna, you DO take the lovliest photos of flowers :)
ReplyDeleteAll such beautiful shots! Love the pink ones with the yellow center.
ReplyDeleteOh my and what a walk it was! Magnificent photography! Love the textured landscape!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow...I am in heaven looking at this post. Such beauty in every photo!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely grouping. My yard has been seriously neglected this year and I don't have 3 bathrooms to blame.
ReplyDeleteA perfect series of lovely :) How did you know my garden was looking bedraggled? hehe I haven't seen many butterflies this year, other than the cabbage whites. I truly think they are taking over....urgh.
ReplyDeleteI've got the milkweed, it's blooming like crazy-but all the monarchs are long gone. I hope to see them next year. I love those raspberry looking plants.
ReplyDeleteJust look at all those pretty flowers. And I just love the photo of the butterfly. So pretty my friend..
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Oh wow, Deanna!! What a delightful walk. Thank you for taking us with you. So many beautiful flowers, so much colour and you have captured it all so beautifully. I have missed visiting your beautiful blog and so many others while I have been blogging less. I plan to change that now :)
ReplyDeleteI've officially decided that you have the most beautiful blog on the internet. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved walking with you because I don't even have a garden (or any private outdoor space for that matter). The colors are beautiful, a joy to look at all your pretty photos!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
All these shots are exquisite! I just stared at each one! I'm getting excited for fall photography, too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful selection, Deanna! I love it when you take us around the Arboretum! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe dahlia's are stunning, indeed, & I love the texture, it compliments the shot very nicely - the last images, too! They're all beautiful =)
