I picked up Catherine about 9:30 AM and drove to the gas station to gas up before heading out. As soon as we turned into the gas station my car started making this terrible noise like I ran over something or I had a flat tire. Stopped the car, both of us out of the car ready to find out what in heavens name I ran over.....nothing. Drove a little further, eeek horrible noise continues. OK, now what to do. Look thru my auto stuff and found that I had purchased some car protection plan that provides towing...aha. Call, and they show up within 1/2 hour....amazing. In the mean-time, Catherine walked back to her house because we were just blocks away and picked up her car. And to think if this would have happened on some country road way out in the boonies...that thought brings shivers. But we weren't and I thank God for that.
I call my dealer to give him a heads-up that the car is on it's way and he says, no chance they would get it fixed today since they are totally booked. OK, that's fine, didn't expect it to be fixed today since it was a Saturday and by the time they towed it in it would probably be after 11:00 AM. Just please let me know how long they estimate it will take so if need be I will rent a car. OK!!
Catherine and I continue on our journey to the fair, stopping along the way taking barn pics, fence pics because as I said the sky and clouds just begged for a photo shoot.
Finally reaching the fair....
Walked around, ate....there is no way you can go to a fair and not eat...
I guess we need to be reminded wherever we are....
After we had our fill, in more ways than one, we decided it was time to head for home. We stopped at the grocery on the way so I could pick up a few things just in case I would be without a car for awhile. As I walked in the door my answering machine indicated I had a message. My car was repaired and I could pick it up. Oh yea!!!! Only problem we were just about 10 minutes too late to pick it up today. Gotta wait until Monday now, but that's OK. I have food in the house so I am good.

ReplyDeleteYour photos are so wonderful. The fence shots are amazing, and I see what you mean about the beautiful sky. Looks like a perfect day to be out and about. Love the colors of the windmill and the fair shot. Well Done!

ReplyDeleteHi Deanna,
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog.
I'm so impressed with your photos, great work indeed.
When I learnt about your husband, I feel for you.
The love of my love is no longer walking by my side too. He's in Heaven now.
Yet I'm thankful to God for all the blessings He has showered on me all this time for I still have a lovely family, beautiful blogger friends and a tiny garden which I tend to with all my heart :)
You managed to take such lovely pictures even after the stress of your car breaking down! I especially love your first shot and the ones of the multicoloured windmill and the colours in the donut stand photo. That's good that you won't be without your car for too long.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you car was OK. And your photos are amazing. Every one of them.
ReplyDeleteHugs~

ReplyDeleteI found you through Weekly Top Shot. Your photography is truly inspiring. My roots are in the rural Midwest, so I am drawn to your fence photos. I agree with Barb that the shadows on the first shot are just marvelous. I'm now following your wonderful blog.

ReplyDeleteFantastic photography and fun at the fair ~ (A Creative Harbor)
ReplyDeleteWhat a funny name for a town! :) Glad you were able to go...and glad your car is already fixed! Great photos as always, Deanna.
ReplyDeleteSO glad too that you weren't stranded someplace! Love this series of images, the windmill is SO colorful and my fav is the fence, cornfield and the farm and silo softened by the shallow DOF! Thanks for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #47!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventuresome Saturday! How lucky to have a friend to spend the day with taking photos and visiting the fair. As usual, your shots are great. The fence captures are my favorite. What a cool windmill.
ReplyDeleteOh my! How lucky that you had a friend with you. Cars can be such a nuisance. Your fair photos were so bright and colorful, just the way a fair is and the barn scenes very charming.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to look at the bright side -- lovely photos and nice to hear about your day. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the fence, skies and fair stuff. What a great day after all. The car repair must've been minor if they've already fixed it. Hope that's the case, anyway. Sounds like you handled it all with patience and grace.
ReplyDeleteDeanna, that sounds like a good day, overall, and you have the photos to prove it. I love your fence shots, especially that second one with the cool wood grain, and the balloon reminder of the best news in the world. So thankful He watches over us.
ReplyDeleteOh my a good day all around, except for the car, but yeah-fixed in a day!! ; ) Those first two shots are In-Credible and yes the sure did beg a photograph, just so perfect!
