Since "patience" is our nemesis (everyone of us) we left that fruit until last and also allowed for the most time to try and bring more patience into our daily lives. So with that being said, I am sharing five "things" that test my patience. I would venture to say, many are on your lists as well. These are in no particular order, they seem to all try me equally.
- Always, always getting in the wrong line at the grocery check-out. No matter how many lines there are to choose from, I always manage to get in the one that needs a "price check" .
- Women who refuse to get up an extra 15 minutes early to put on their make-up at home in front of their bathroom mirror instead of using the car mirror and endangering the lives of all around her.
- A wet newspaper, disrupts my morning ritual...
- This one has been solved by the I-PASS, but driving up to the toll booth and being behind the person who doesn't begin to search for his money until he is stopped, holding up traffic for blocks.
- And finally, having an urgency to "go" to the bathroom, rushing to find an empty stall, scrambling with your purse and packages, finally getting relief, only to discover there is no toilet tissue ARGH!!
- And I am not even going to mention the loss of patience I feel with "certain" cell phone users.
Stopped along the road and gathered handfuls of these gorgeous branches with bright red berries.
I don't do alot of "Halloween" decorations, but I couldn't resist this cutie.
And I love the shape of pumpkins and their stems...
Please join me and read more of "absolutely nothing" at my collaborative blog Focusing on Life.
After reading back over this post, I am not sure these all fall into the "patience" category or if they are just irrations...maybe both, anyway there are 5 of them or 6 and they are facts about me.
'Patience is the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears." ~ Barbara Johnson
Until next time.....
Until next time.....
patience is my issue big time. seems to have gotten worse as i have gotten older. luckily i have learned a long long time ago to always check the bathroom stall for tissue. drip drying is so not fun!! yucky. we don't read a newspaper so i'm good there. when we go through a toll booth the hubby has or i have looked to see the price years before so the money is always ready in my hand. what happens to me is the folks who use food stamps (maybe they are checks now), please realize i'm not saying i dislike them using the stamps but the slowing down process it takes the clerk to check them out, or screaming kid, or the clerk is too into my purchases & why i am buying them ... asking questions & so forth. sometimes personal questions. it is so frustrating. i really worried about those ladies who put makeup on in their mirror, so dangerous for their eyes or other facial areas. ha. ha!! i have even seen a man shaving is face while driving. can you imagine? when you figure out the patience issues ... would you pass it on to me ... because i pray about it all the time but i'm still struggling. nuts, wonder if i will get better with age? think i will go & see others thoughts now. yours was too fun!! thanks for sharing. (:
ReplyDeleteI need to get back into doing 5 Gact Friday - it's fun to read them! I love your pumpkin shot and the textures - wow!
ReplyDeleteI mean Fact . . .:)
ReplyDeleteI think I relate to all of them, lol. I can see why fell for that cute owl :)
ReplyDeletePatience isn't my long suit(e) either! Wonderful images, all; I particularly like the pumpkin!
ReplyDeletePatience really isn't my virtue either and I love the quote! Your pumpkin photo is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Deanna, I too love that little dinosaur trick or treater. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteLove, Love, Love em all, esp the Fall punkin pic! =)
ReplyDeleteNot only do I always get in the 'wrong" line at the store, I also always have that stupid shopping cart with the wiggly wheels that makes so much noise you can hear me coming from a mile away! Oh wait, yes, forgot - they're alllll like that! :)
ReplyDeleteAll of these topics were very rant-worthy. I always have trouble with the card swiper-thingy. Seems they change to a new one every time I go to buy groceries. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...your photos are so stunning. What an eye for composition you have! If you don't make cards out of them, you should. They would make beautiful gifts. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think I have too much patience. But it makes my husband crazy, so I guess there is a down side :) Oh and I love Fall too, oh and owls, and all of you beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos - especially the owl! He's so cute! I always pick the wrong line too!
ReplyDeleteI agree with all that is on your list....especially the cell phone!! I love that cute little orange guy also.
ReplyDeleteYou and I must always be in the same check out line!
ReplyDeleteCount me in that price check line. I saw a lady actually write a check the other day??!! Love that little devil!!
ReplyDeleteI see now that's its s cute Halloween costume! Still love it
DeleteWonderful photos! Like your new header too. It would be a miracle if I could find red berries along side a road here. (I did see some in someone's are the other day.....)
ReplyDeleteLovely collection of photos - you found branches with red berries? - How wonderful.
ReplyDeletePatience...can't say I have the same irritations as these rarely/never happen to.
I love that patience is first in the 1 Corinthians 13 description of love - says a lot about its importance.
I hate going to the grocery store for that very reason!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I can relate to each and every one of these. Marshall's has instituted the "single line" method which I like better; unfortunately, they only have 2 cashiers to service about 20 in line. And it's like that every time, so I just quit going there. Grrrrrr. I learned a long time ago that if I ask God to help me in a weak area, such as patience, He will definitely give me lots of opportunities to work on it. Hope you have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteDeanna, it is good to meet you and thanks for dropping by my blog today.
ReplyDeletePatience, my grandmother always told us, is a virtue. Sometimes I find it difficult to have that virtue! I try to accept whatever situation in which I find myself and not wish it was any other way. It is what it is. Why not accept it.
Sounds like you had a rough week, hope next week is better!
ReplyDeleteI'm late in getting here, had to step away from the computer for a couple of days . . . I'm with you on the make-up deal, and you should stand in line with me, I usually can pick a good one! ; ) Love tha sunflower AND the pumpkin and edit are awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI do agree with these points indeed. Some people have just lost there social manners I'd say... It needs to be an issue the news or some celebrity brings up, well I could I guess, but it's funny that we never hear this topic mentioned do we. Sad....
ReplyDeleteYour images have the feeling of Fall... I love your little Pumpkin man and I'd be stopping to pick those pretty flowers too. Delightful piece of nature to put in a vase to shoot.
Warm Regards,
Karla
